THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR BEING IS....

Yesterday, an Anonymous reader left the following story in the comment section in response to my post on TOMORROW IS NEVER PROMISED. He/She has kindly given me permission to put it up as a stand-alone post. The reason why I am posting it is obvious. As we look at what is happening in our country, it almost seems as though the spirit of our nation is fast transforming into something that is destructive. There is so much hatred, corruption, unhappiness over the wrong issues expressed the wrong way, people saying the wrong things, leaders doing the wrong thing and leaving a party for the wrong reasons and other leaders fighting over the wrong issues in the wrong country. For heaven's sake, what is wrong? Antares is so right when he said that the political situation is VERY TOXIC. I am Not a religious person but I do believe that the people of this land need a renewal of our minds - all of us! The time has come for us to be really true to the Almighty above and to put aside whatever selfish ambitions and for once, really think of what irresponsible leaders are doing to our nation. And the time has really come for people to stand up and to MAKE THAT DIFFERENCE by being silent no more and to STAND UP FOR JUSTICE. Thanks to Anonymous @ 5.29 p.m. on February 16th for sharing this with us.

"My mother used to ask me what the most important part of the body is. Through the years I would take a guess at what I thought was the correct.

Do you know what was the Answer ? if you want to know go on reading ......

When I was younger, I thought sound was very important to us as humans, so I said, "My ears, Mommy."
She said, "No. Many people are deaf. But you keep thinking about it and I will ask you again soon."

Several years passed before she asked me again. Since making my first attempt, I had contemplated the correct answer.

So this time I told her, "Mommy, sight is very important to everybody, so it must be our eyes."

She looked at me and told me, "You are learning fast, but the answer is not correct because there are many people who are blind."

Stumped again, I continued my quest for knowledge and over the years, Mother asked me a couple more times and always her answer was, "No. But you are getting smarter every year, my child."

Then one year, my grandfather died. Everybody was hurt. Everybody was crying. Even my father cried. I remember that especially because it was only the second time I saw him cry.

My Mom looked at me when it was our turn to say our final good-bye to my Grandfather. She asked me, "Do you know the most important body part yet, my dear?" I was shocked when she asked me this now. I always thought this was a game between her and me.

She saw the confusion on my face and told me, "This question is very important. It shows that you have really lived in your life. For every body part you gave me in the past, I have told you were wrong and I have given you an example why.

But today is the day you need to learn this important lesson."

She looked down at me as only a mother can. I saw her eyes well up with tears. She said, "My dear, the most important body part is your spirit."

The most important part of our body is our inner spirit.

Without it the body dies. We can be walking and talking but if we are not sensitive to this spirit within, we are no better than a walking, talking zombie.

With it love is possible.

Without it, is the dead body lovable ?

From here it is obvious that, that which love and what we love in others is the spirit within. The body is merely the temporary cloth we wear while on this earthly existence.

    Unknown Dear Anonymous @ 6.06 p.m.

Thank you for sharing the Eight Values of 1Malaysia.

This concept was introduced when our PM first came to power and my former varsity mate is assisting him in this!Currently it is 1 Malaysia: People First, Performance Now.

The eight values are naturally GOOD values that do not belong to Malaysians alone. Nothing to shout about. But it is commendable these have been included in the concept. However, how far will it be brought to pass esp with regards to EXCELLENCE, INTEGRITY AND MERITOCRACY?

Can Malaysians truly be ONE if some leaders perpetuate the divide and enjoy fanning racist sentiments and making it seem as though one is superior to another by the things they do and say? Unless such delinquent leaders ZIP UP FOREVER, these goons will sow the seeds of destruction and our PM will have difficulties realizing his ideal. Shouldn't his subordinates support him instead of undermining his ideal?

To me, this is just political rhetoric.

When TDM became PM, he came in with the slogan Bersih, Cekap, dan Amanah. How bersih? How cekap and how amanah?

When Tun Badawi became PM, he introduced the slogan Cemerlang, Gemilang dan Terbilang. How effective was it????

For the 1Malaysia to succeed, ALL THE LEADERS must have that genuine spirit to bring about POSITVE change for everyone.

Are they ready and willing to do that?

Do they have the right spirit?

    Only God knows.

    Thanks for reading.

I am also wondering along the same lines!! Far too many are taking care of their own turf. The frogs are living proof of this!

Deinitely!!! The only problem is the lack of consensus about what is right - especially when it comes to dollars and cents!!

    Very saddening!

Take care and have a restful evening.

Anonymous A renewal of our minds, masterwordsmith requires a kind of personal self realizaton wrt the human experience in life.

This can't be attained by rote conditioning and other futile brainwashing under the guise of religiosity skewed to enable a docile and zombied society.

This is what umno has been attempting all along.

Jaundiced MahaKutty hates individualism and expects a zombied society to be dynamic and successful as well. He thinks an authoritarian, racist fascist society will serve this country well. Only a perverse and amoral egomaniac would.

Anonymous Being is the prerequisite to conscious thought. I am, therefore I think.

The most important part of your being is consciousness/mindfulness. To be conscious/mindful allows one to understand and interpret reality as it is.

However, the emotions frequently interfere with clarity of thought and mislead one to an irrational conclusion.

    This is the human dilemma.

"To be or not to be – that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
And, by opposing, end them. To die, to sleep
No more – and by a sleep to say we end
The heartache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to – ‘tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wished. To die, to sleep
To sleep, perchance to dream. Ay, there's the rub,"

LC Teh It's the spirit, or the heart, or some would call it the mind. Whatever its name it's the same thing. If the mind of a worker is not in the job he'll be just doing aimless things. His half-hearted efforts will never get a job done to satisfaction. So it is with everything else.

Very well expressed, my friend! The reason why we have a docile and zombied society is largely due to one evil man's success in wrecking havoc in the education system. We now have a generation of young people who seriously lack critical thinking skills thanks to their enslavement to rote learning! That fascist monster has the audacity to proclaim that it was done to elevate standards but we know otherwise! And so, racism rears its ugly head whenever he cracks the whip and other servile beings sing and dance to his tune.

Time to wake up Malaysians to regain our dignity!

We have to attain self-actualization and self-awareness.

Take care and thanks for your great comment!

It is vital to be true to ourselves. Materialism, pride, greed, corruption and arrogance can blind us to the truth and being one that upholds dignity and self-respect. Without holding steadfastly to morals and values, it would be easy to fall by the wayside...

And we have seen that happening far too many times.

All the more leaders have to be on high moral ground.

Take care and thanks for sharing your views, Village Boy.

Anonymous Obviously, Anwar is fighting a losing battle in this Bolehland. There is no way he can win the court case. Even if Saiful all of a sudden admits that he had lied about being sodomized, Anwar will still somehow be wiped out of the political landscape in Malaysia.

The BN government will try its level best, and in whatever way, to destroy Anwar's political future. As it is, this man is still the biggest threat!

Looks like another Reformasi protest will be coming to town once poor Anwar is sent into jail.

    1Malaysia, what a farce!
