I SCRATCH YOUR BACK AND YOU SCRATCH MINE

This article HERE made me smile in wonder for many reasons. The report said:

Former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad today suggested that Malay rights advocate Perkasa can be credited for the swing in Malay votes for Barisan Nasional during the Hulu Selangor by-election.

“Maybe it's because of Perkasa, (most) Malays voted for BN. We will never know. (In the past) there are so many Malays who won't support BN. If (BN does not support Perkasa), we may not get the Malay vote.

“And if we don't have the Chinese vote as well, the vote will go to Pakatan (Rakyat) lah,” he told a press conference after delivering a lecture titled Malaysia as a Maritime Nation - Are We There? at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

It almost seems as though PERKASA is the alter ego of UMNO and here, we have a case of a former PM validating PERKASA's so called 'deeds' and moral crusade which does not seem to have raised the eyebrows of the main players in UMNO.

While on one hand PERKASA has been criticizing UMNO for various reasons, they have not received any flak from our PM and instead, here we have a clear case of public validation of a by-election victory which presumably should be claimed by BN, especially by our PM who personally went down to the ground to lobby for votes.

Ironically, in BN, one quarter after another is trying to claim credit for the BN victory in HS whilst in PR, we have a witch-hunt going on to justify why Datuk Zaid lost.

As it stands, this case shows us a case of "I scratch my back while you scratch mine."

Hmm...I wonder what are the other benefits from such 'back-scratching' pursuits?

Do leave a comment to share your thoughts and views. Thanks. Have a lovely evening.

Maybe it's because of Perkasa, most non-Malays voted for PR. We will never know.

Anonymous Yes, we have a witch-hunt going on to justify why Datuk Zaid lost.

Nevertheless, all is not lost yet for Zaid. Come next GE, he is a sure winner!

Ex-MCA Man Ibrahim asked the Chinese voters in Hulu Selangor to repent after they received RM3 million for a school which the prime minister had pledged during the election campaign.

Wonder if he uses the word "repent" correctly....

Anonymous Just for the heck of it, let's just imagine the GE13 has just ended and BN has lost the government to PR and Anwar Ibrahim is sworn in as PM.

    My objective questions are:

Which party would be blamed for losing the general election to PR? Would it be -

    UMNO?
    MCA?
    MIC?
    Perkasa?
    Briefly, give your reasons.

Which individual would be blamed? Would it be -

    Najib?
    Mahathir?
    Chua Soi Lek?
    Sammy Vellu?
    Ibrahim Ali?
    Rais Yatim?
    Hishammudin?
    Nazri?
    Khairy?
    Briefly, give your reasons.

You are allowed to choose only ONE answer in each question.

Osama® Whoever is scatching, the fact is that, really, BN has got nothing to be shout about this victory.

No, not being a sore loser, the fact was, they were looking forward to thrash DSAI, and Zaid so badly and to score that psychological victory over the ever resistant Pakatan. They were quietly looking toward the majority they secured in 2004, prior to the loss of 198 votes in 2008. For your information, BN won by a staggering 14,000 votes here in this stronghold of theirs which they had held since independence, and winning by majority of 10,000 and above was a norm. Instead they could only win by a slim majority of 1,725 votes, translated, it means Pakatan would have won, had there been a swing of 870 votes here.

Whatever, the election is over, but the problems related to that election, continue to surface. As reported, hundreds of voters who had been transferred out of the constituency, voters who found out that they cannot vote because someone else had voted in their place, the relocating of 14,000 voters from their voting stations and allegations of bribery had surfaced. So after their consultations with the CPO of Selangor, they will proceed to lodge their reports tomorrow at KKB police station, and the numbers are staggering, a few hundreds of them.

After all the monies spent, really, this should not have happened, as this is a BN stronghold!

Nevertheless, what Perkasa is doing will drive out the non Malays in even bigger numbers, though those racists are taking it out on the Chinese. The Chinese, at least in Hulu Selangor proved that they cannot be bribed, and correctly voted PKR. We salute the voters of RASA town, who despite being promised 3 million for the building of their school, voted a whopping 82.42% for PR, and in a voting station, returned PKR with a 88.6% vote! What else can we say of these folks? We must also thank the Indians for their 40% support! Normally 80-85% of Indians voted BN, but, apparently, they too had awakened.

Anonymous I feel that we don't have to keep consoling ourselves that BN won beause of their vast financial war chest (read our money) available at their disposal.

BN's finances is not bottomless. If the whole nation goes to the polls, BN will not have enough funds to buy voters the way they did in HS.

In most situations, wealth divides people, while poverty unites.

If we need a global economic downturn to help dry up the money wells and stop the government's excesses, then let us pray for one now. BN will be helpless without money because that's the only thing protecting them. PR will then win big and, even though we may be poor, the new unity forged will give us the resolve and strength to face hard times and Malaysians will rise again towards a new future as one happy nation.

My answer is : All the above

    UMNO : Arrogant & self-centred
    MCA : Tainted by a porn-star
    MIC : Buried by Hindraf
Perkasa : Head hops somewhere again

Your analysis is very good and helps put things in the right perspective.

Thanks so much for your comment which resonates deeply with my previous post where I implied that affluence has blinded us from seeing the reality of life in our country.

When in brokenness, people have a tendency to band together for solidarity and for comfort. I believe that what you said is very true and their financial resources will dry up, during which they are likely to lose in elections and then we can happily boot them out Maradona style LOL!!

ahoo We know that Perkosa is an outsourced NGO of umno lah! The ruling regime is playing both side of the divide. Getting racist in the like of "a bra ham" to shout obscenity at others while they behave like gentlemen to dish out OUR taxpayers money as though it belongs to them. This is pure corruption as no one should be allow to use taxpayers monies to pay off those Felda settlers in the first place. I have no issue with the poor and marginalised settlers but the way the whole issue has turn out is food for thought ???

Who were the people that had taken their lands ? Who have had benefitted from those transactions? Why taxpayers monies are used to settle some commercial deals if I am not wrong ? Please enlighten me on this if anyone out there have more details. Nandri

We see before us a true to life Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde scenario which is legitimized by silence from those who should speak up.

So many things amiss - morally and financially that we need a good shake-up from the heavens to awaken the souls and spirits of these heartless and conscience-less beings.

    Sighs...

Take care and thanks for sharing. Have a blessed weekend.
