Have you ever stopped to consider whether this proverb holds water in nature? Truth is, it may not always be correct but in our lives, even troubled lives, it can be correct if we approach situations positively. The same applies for the HS by-election tomorrow.
In nature, it’s not "always darkest before the dawn." Usually, there’s quite a bit of light out before the actual sunrise – and even if we count “dawn” as the first little bit of light, it’s still not necessarily darker then than any other time during the night. Most of the time, the darkest time of the night is during a moonless night.
I believe that it is darkest in the middle of the night. The important thing is that it's going to stay dark until we do something about it and let some light into our lives. In this case, it is up to the Hulu Selangor voters to make the right decision by listening to and focusing on real issues that matter and not to be befuddled by allegations or beguiled by freebies. Does it make sense that just for one constituency, so much money is spent for the constituents when less was spent before this by-election? What about other places that have no by-election?
Both in nature, in our lives, it’s always darkest when light is absent. On a personal level, when one is depressed especially when facing challenges, it is up to us to make things better by making a conscious decision to let some light in. We don't have to sit around, waiting for the breaking of dawn. It is a conscious decision that we make to allow light to brighten our lives, and let the "dawn" of a new day light up our life and our moods. Let's focus on the right issues and drop the wrong issues. Ask the right questions and look out for credible answers.
In nature, light can come from the stars or the moon or the lights from a passing vehicle or lamp or even a bizarre flying saucer. In a situation, if you need light, nothing changes that fact. In nature, dawn will do followed by a beautiful sunrise where we can enjoy the warmth of the sunrise on our faces, especially when we have been wondering in the cold, depressing twilight.
Far too often, the discouraged and depressed wait around for the dawn, rather than finding some kind of light switch to turn on instead. So for the Hulu Selangor voters, I appeal to you to let the right sort of light brighten your lives. Turn on the lights to see truth as what it is and vote wisely! Quit sitting there in the dark of indecisiveness waiting for the dawn to break before you make your decision.
Sure, some of the reports seem to paint a bleak picture but remember that it’s dark before the dawn – but we can always turn on the lights.
Here's Mike Edel's song TURN THE LIGHTS ON BRIGHT for you to enjoy as you mull over the issues raised and what is of worth, worth remembering and worth your careful consideration as you think about who you should vote. Dear Hulu Selangor voters, let the light into your lives by voting for the better candidate. Vote by your conscience and with wisdom. Come out in full force!!! Please!!! Thank you!
As always, do leave a comment to share your thoughts or views. Thanks and have a nice weekend!

Anonymous P Kamalanathan was a "phantom voter" in the Sungai Siput constituency?
Hope it wasn't true!

edward Dear MWS,
For too long simple folks are ensnared by the tentacles of corrupt political culture, exchanging their votes for material gains or some frightening bogeyman idea. After the victory is secured and after the fireworks has died down, life remains as difficult as before. Just like a jilted lover swept off her feet by a dashing romeo bearing expensive gifts, she will be wondering what happened to all the sweet promises whispered into her ears.
Seriously, I hope that the HS electorate will lead the way to self renewal and embrace a new dawn where truth, justice, honour, fairness and hope abound.
Godspeed.

What a beautiful comment you have shared here with the perfect metaphor of the jilted lover. Now they are being wooed, but after the dust settles, what will happen? Only God knows.
I share the same hope as you do and pray that somehow, a new dawn will begin in Malaysia and may it begin with HS.
Take care and God bless you and yours.
Shalom

Anonymous What happy news! The non-Malay votes appear to be gyrating towards Pakatan Rakyat.
Let's work harder till the final whistle!

Wan Sharif Dari Hulu Selangor...
P. Kamalanathan claims to be a local Selangor/Rawang/ Hulu Selangor boy but turns out he is a Pengundi in Sungei Siput (think Samy Velu). It's legal but kinda hypocritical don't y'all think.
Dr Xavier memberitahu bahawa Kamalanathan merupakan pengundi di P62 Sungai Siput? (Twitter dari simtzetzin)
