A student at HBHS (high school) had pancakes this week and it almost became fatal. His Mom (registered nurse) made him pancakes, dropped him off at school and headed to play tennis. She never takes her cell phone on the court but did this time and her son called to say he was having trouble breathing.
She told him to go to the nurse immediately and proceeded to call school and alert the nurse. The nurse called the paramedics and they were there in 3 minutes and worked on the boy all the way to the hospital. He came so close to dying.
Evidently this is more common than I ever knew. Check the expiration dates on packages like pancakes and cake mixes that have yeast which over time will develop spores. Apparently, the mold that forms in old mixes can be toxic!
Throw away ALL OUTDATED pancake mix, brownie mixes, Bisquick, cake & cookie mixes, etc., you have in your home.
P.S. Tell this to your children, grandchildren, nephews, nieces and anyone else who keeps these types of mixes in the cupboard. Thanks! Have a nice day!

ahoo Yes, there are many UNWANTED or probably expired items in our fridge. Mostly chocolates and maybe even vitamins or medication from the last visit to doctor that was left unfinished.
Goodness gracious, we never know what side effect or sickness it may cause.

Ex-MCA Man Dr Chua said Chew’s resignation would not be a setback to his leadership.
“We have one million members ... this is will not affect the image of my leadership,” he said.

Yes, Chua Soi Lek, you are right!
Chew Mei Fun's exit from the party will not affect the image of your leadership!
But remember, your scandalous image has already tainted the whole of MCA!

LC Teh Teach kids to check foodstuff before eating. If the stuff is not supposed to be green but you see green 'hairs' sticking up, don't eat it. If there's a strange smell or taste in the food, don't eat it. Expiration dates can be misleading, so don't just depend on them.

Even if they have no reached 6the expiration dates, the inherent toxicity levels tell us what to do!
Have a lovely weekend!

Masterwordsmith Dear ahoo
I have seen many instances when expired items are still displayed on the shelves. I always ask to speak to the supervisor on duty and bring it to their attention.
It is better to be safe than sorry!
Take care and God bless.

Masterwordsmith Dear Ex-MCA Man
Very true! It is saddening how while some laud CMF's brave and principled move, others dismiss it without batting an eyelid!
MCA is passe already....
Thanks for reminding us of that fact with your most apt nom de plume.
Enjoy your weekend!

My deepest appreciation to you for that timely reminder. Yes, you are right. Expiration dates alone are not enough for stuff could go wrong due to the way it is stored etc.
Usually, kids are the ones who do not really pay attention to such details and parents must teach them to do so.
Take care and God bless you for your civic-consciousness.
Have a great weekend.
Cheers

Indeed you are right! The worse is that some f the poison is latent and may not show their effects until it is too late!
Thanks for that reminder!
Enjoy the weekend!
Best wishes
Kampung Girl Yes, we need to check the expiration dates on packages.
More importantly, we need to double-check the expiration dates on those hopping political frogs, too!
