FUNNY WEDDING GUIDELINES

It is Saturday and I am sure many are still awake due to the football matches last night and this morning. Personally, I believe Netherlands has an excellent chance of taking the World Cup Home with their unbeaten record. They will be meeting Uruguay on 6th of July. Of course I am sad Brazil lost but I guess sometimes it depends on the fixtures and who each team meets in a match. Uruguay and Ghana had an exciting match and I love the way they scored the first goal and the equalizer. Oooops - sorry for the football talk. Here's something light and funny to start your day with a smile - funny wedding guidelines. Do swing by later for the next sopo post. Thanks and have a great day!

FUNNY WEDDING GUIDELINES

Announcement:

It is the responsibility of the bride's family to announce the wedding in the local newspaper. The announcement should include: A photograph of the bride (A high school yearbook picture is acceptable); Name of the groom, education completed by both bride and groom (do not include elementary school, unless that was the terminal degree.); current employment and planned residence after the ceremony (If living with the bride's parents, it is not necessary to specify where in the house you will reside).

Invitations:

Since you are having a planned wedding and you are expecting a lot of free stuff, you must send out invitations! They do not have to be lengthy. Something like "You are invited to watch John Smith and Jennifer Johnson make it legal on March 14, 2000." will suffice nicely. If you don't want to be so formal, you can always run down to the local bar and yell "If you aint doing nothin' on the 14th of March, why don't you stop by my house for a cold one about 2 o'clock. Me and Jennifer's having some friends over to watch the ball game and witness our weddin'."

Proper attire:

For the bride, the key words are "be conservative." No matter how good it may look, refrain from wedding outfits made with spandex or adorned with fringe. Excessive slits and dips also are frowned upon. This is not the occasion to show the world how big "they" are.

For the groom, a rented tuxedo is haute courture, but if it means the difference between going on a honeymoon and staying home, concider some alternatives. For example, a leisure suit with a cummerbund and a clean work shirt can create a natty appearence. And though possibly uncomfortable, say yes to socks and shoes for this special occasion.

The ceremony:

No matter how urgent the event, loaded weapons have no place at the alter. At the point in the ceremony that says, "If anybody has any reason why these two should no be joined in holy matrimony..." tell the preacher not to pause too long, old flames sometimes die hard and talk too much.

Reception:

Remember to reserve the UAW hall far in advance, and avoid Saturdays, since that's bingo night. It is perfectly acceptable to ask guests to wipe their feet before entering the hall. After all the cleaning deposit can be the difference between an oil change and a full tune-up for the car.

When dancing never remove undergarments, no matter how hot it is!

Common wedding questions and answers

Q: Is it all right to bring a date to the wedding?
A: Not if you are the groom.

Q: How many showers is the bride supposed to have?
A: At least one within a week of the wedding.

Q: What music is recommended for the wedding ceremony?
A: Anything except "Tied to the Whipping Post".

daffodils The Uruguay player cheated. He deliberately deflected the ball that was a sure goal with his hand and for that he was regarded as a hero. It was an act of desperation. He rather earned a red card than have Ghana scored the goal. Victory without honor.

Too bad the Ghanaian guy who took the penalty missed the shot. Ghana had an opportunity to win. Ghana carried the hope of an entire continent’s soccer hopes—the other five African nations did not advance. I was also hoping for an Asian country to advance to the next round. Japan was so close and yet so far. The Europeans and the South Americans had dominated the World Cup for far too long. It is time for Asia and Africa to rise!

Great to know you are a football fan too! I did not finish watching the match because I was very sleepy. I thought the Ghanaians were very spirited and for the greater part of the game, thought they would win.

Like you, I also root for the underdogs. I had hoped that Japan (who played pretty well for some of the games) would make it for at least the quarter-finals.

Still, I think Netherlands has a strong chance of winning the Cup. My younger boy is a fan of the German team though. Who do you think will win?

Take care and thanks for sharing. Have a lovely weekend!

    Cheers

daffodils It's going to be a cliffhanger, the match between Germany and Argentina.I ve been watching World Cup since schooldays in an all girls school.

I watched the match between the Netherlands and Brazil but for the Ghana vs Uruguay match I followed the highlights over Astro.

Who will win the World Cup? It's a toss between Germany and the Netherlands. If both meet, it will then be reminiscent of the 1974 World cup encounter where both teams met. Franz Beckenbauer, the old man of German football was the captain then.

Then as a schoolgirl, I followed most matches Germany played. Germany has youth in their 2010 team. Their players outrun the old horses of England. Germany is my favourite team.

I watched the matches over the internet ...cancelled my Astro subscription in May because no one watches tv in my home and we had been donating money to Astro for years!

I have been a football fan since my dating days with my husband...Yes, I remember Beckenbauer. We must be of the same age!! :-)

My son INSISTS that Germany will win :-). The Argentina vs Germany match will be one to watch. I am sure it will end in a penalty shootout like last night.

I supported Brazil in previous World Cup competitions but for this one, I support Netherlands and Argentina.

Enjoy the season! Take care and God bless!
