A SURFEIT OF POLITICAL TIT-FOR-TAT

In The Malaysian Insider this evening, Deputy PM joined in the Perkasa-Nazri spat by saying that that anyone was free to form an association, including Chinese or Indian versions of the Malay rights group, Perkasa.

ROUND 1

Earlier HERE, Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz declared that the Umno did not support or recognise the Malay rights group. He said, 'We'should get rid of Perkasa. Why do I say that? Because Perkasa is not in line with Datuk Seri Najib (Razak’s) 1 Malaysia concept. We (are) against any form of racism and Perkasa certainly doesn’t belong or [is] supported by Umno,” said Nazri.

According to Nazri, no action could be taken against Perkasa unless they made inflammatory remarks or if complaints were made against them. The Padang Rengas MP said that the best way to stop Perkasa was for Umno to “disassociate” themselves completely from the Malay NGO and said there is "a freedom of disassociation in this country.”

Has Nazri studied Perkasa's statements to assess if they have made any inflammatory statements? I for one would love to hear his assessment.

ROUND 2

The 'famous' Ibrahim Ali responded HERE :

Datuk Ibrahim Ali traded verbal blows with Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz over his jibe against Perkasa, saying that it was the minister who should be gotten rid of if Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) wanted to retain the people’s support.

In a text message to The Malaysian Insider this afternoon, the Perkasa president said Nazri’s statement had come from “someone who has lost the ability to think”.

“His statement is not worth entertaining as it has no value and it is a waste of time.

“So, get rid of Nazri if Umno and BN wants to retain the support of the people,” the outspoken independent Pasir Mas MP said, adding that Perkasa was just a non-governmental organisation and had nothing to lose.

ROUND 3

Ladies and gentlemen, presenting the classic response from our Deputy CM are reported HERE in The Malaysian Insider:

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said today that anyone was free to form an association, including Chinese or Indian versions of the Malay rights group, Perkasa.

“We can have Chinese Perkasa and even Indian Perkasa,” he said today.

He said that it was an individual’s right to form an association and it was acceptable as long as it was formed with good intentions.

“The government does not stop anyone from forming a body,” he told reporters after officiating the second Asean School Games at Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium today.
Free Malaysia Today reported HERE:

"Perkasa boss Ibrahim Ali today continued his verbal tirade, this time against Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Nazri Abdul Aziz, whom he claims has lost his marbles. The independent Pasir Mas MP was livid with Nazri over his jibe against Perkasa, and described the latter's comments as “least valuable”.

"A statement made by someone who is insane is least valuable and a waste of time. I am sympathetic (towards him) but what can I do? His statement makes the Malays hate Umno more.

Some seem to have lost their marbles all in the name of what?

Seriously, we are giving I.A. and Perkasa too much free publicity. I will say no more as he must be basking in the attention. Don't forget he was also embroiled in another spat with Donald Lim. You can read more about that HERE.

Whatever the case, I believe we are having a surfeit of absolutely childish tit-for-tat. Can they please change topic and discuss something that is OF USE to the rakyat?

*YAWNS*

There is only one way to end all of this.

Only if we go to the polls and vote the RIGHT TYPE OF GOVERNMENT who cares for the rakyat rather than self-seeking individuals who capitalize on polemics.

Then perhaps there can be reports about how leaders are promoting peace and harmony.

We need to open a window to hope and change in our country. We must.

Yes, the MSM is also to be largely blamed for merely giving them this much publicity without criticism but instead with such self damning alacrity.

    Captain Obvious Dear masterwordsmith,

Pardon me, was that... tongue flapping!? Did I ever tell you these arrivistes have a vicious stuttering problem? Sigh... Once upon a time, well, not too long ago, Malaysia looked scruffy. Now she is just shabby.

Many thanks for such a brilliant comment!

Yup, with the sword of Damocles hanging over their head, the MSM is 'pro*t*tu*in* itself for a sheet of paper that determines its survival.

That is a real tragedy. Why bother to exist at all?

Take care and thanks for sharing!

    Cheers

Anonymous Let the charade begins ! The many good for nothing politicians are a pain in our ar** and instead of pursuing economic reforms, they have all the time in the world to start a war of words,.....just for attention purpose.

Let the people be aware of their antics and let them self destruct. We can live better without such bigots around. Let us remember them well and ship them oout to "TimBaktu" at the right time.

Indeed such comments are not only irritating and a waste of time but is probably construed for an insidious motive.

We have to be on guard to ward off any subtle propaganda and reinforce our stand for change.

Otherwise, we would be joining them in the path of self-destruction.

May more be awakened to see reality in our country.

    Shalom
