Student: "Sir, do you really understand everything about this subject?"
Professor: "Actually, I probably do. Otherwise I wouldn't be a professor, would I?"
Student: "OK. So I’d like to ask you a question. If you can give me the correct answer, I will accept my marks as it is. If you can't give me the correct answer, however, you'll have to give me an "A".
Professor: "Hmmmm, alright. So what’s the question?"
Student: "What is legal but not logical, logical but not legal, and neither logical nor legal? "
The professor wracks his famous brain, but just can't crack the answer. Finally he gives up and changes the student's failing mark into an "A" as agreed, and the student goes away, very pleased.
The professor continues to wrack his brain over the question all afternoon, but still can’t get the answer. So finally he calls in a group of his brightest students and tells them he has a really, really tough question to answer: "What is legal but not logical, logical but not legal, and neither logical nor legal? "
To the professor's surprise (and embarrassment), all the students immediately raise their hands.
"All right" says the professor and asks his favourite student to answer
"It's quite easy, sir" says the student "You see, you are 75 years old and married to a 30 year old woman, which is legal, but not logical. Your wife has a 22 year old lover, which is logical, but not legal. And your wife's lover failed his exam but you've just given him an "A", which is neither legal, nor logical."

Anonymous He must have been a professor from "very near home" kind of stuff. That is more apt as compared to the picture shown.
For many a time we had experienced events of similar nature, "What is legal but not logical, logical but not legal, and neither logical nor legal? "
Polygamy is legal in some countries but not logical for the women as sharing of husband is not being kind. Yet many are forced to accept it and some unwanted ones got involved with others, that is logical but not legal. Ends up with children not knowing their real parents, that is neither legal nor logical. My cents on this.
It just depends on which camp is speaking at that time. I just love the answers from those students, excellent to the core !!!

Unknown Dear Anon @ 8.57a.m.
Thank you for your elegant response to this post. Like you, I enjoyed reading the student responses to the professor.
Thanks for sharing your views wrt to polygamy. In some countries, men share one wife because of cultural and economic reasons lest the land be further subdivided! Then, the children are also unsure of their parentage but at least, the blood line is sure...
Take care and have a great week!
Cheers
Anonymous I note that the law professor is not logical in having a 30 yr old wife who may have a logical reason to marry him.
He basically demonstrates and promotes illogic and expect the exalted(all mighty) legality to protect ALL his personal interests.
Not!
His mind can't be that brilliant at all and he lives in his own small world!
