Who Ya Gonna Call ? Ghostbusters?

This is not a line from Ripley's Believe it Or Not? Neither is it a joke. You can read it in The Malaysian Insider HERE or Free Malaysia Today HERE. Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin claimed today he had no power to take action against the two school principals who allegedly uttered racial slurs, despite his position as the country’s Education Minister.

He explained to reporters here today that this was because disciplinary matters involving high-ranking civil servants comes under the jurisdiction of the Public Service Department (PSD).

Are you still with me or have you fallen off your seat? Please hang on to your laptop and read further!

According to The Malaysian Insider:

“The minister cannot make a decision (on this). So cases that involve certain matters, including these principals who have high (pay) grades... If I am not wrong, their grades are between 48 and 52, so this has to be decided on by a disciplinary board under the (purview of the) PSD’s director-general,” he told reporters after opening the 10th regional seminar on the Criminalisation of Bribery at the Palace of the Golden Horses hotel here this afternoon.

Muhyiddin pointed out that the ministry, on its part, had already done its own research on the cases and had handed over its report to the PSD for further action.

“I have asked the PSD to mete out appropriate action. It is under their jurisdiction (to do so),” he said.

He added that he had already made the announcement and urged the people to wait for the PSD to make its decision.

So during times of trouble like what happened last month in Kedah and Johore, who ya gonna call?

Who will protect students and stand up for justice? Who will use the stick to discipline the ones who did wrong?

May justice prevail!!!

It is going to be one long, winding and rocky journey....

    Captain Obvious Dear masterwordsmith,

I thought I am more mature than I thought... On second thought, no, he is just too immature...

    Cheers!

JustTruth Thank you for the post.

Yes, I see why you hv labelled it as STUPIDITY!

Its obvious he supports these 2 school heads, thats why we dont hear him, strongly + vehemently condemning such racist + unjust actions. He is also side-stepping and non-commital on the degree + type of punishment to be imposed as a precedent + deterrent for future "abuse of position" as head of school.

Let the whole world know. How to be a world class education hub?

    Unknown Dear Just Truth

You are most welcome. It is my pleasure to share except I wish I could share more positive news about our country :-(.

Indeed it is very frustrating and demoralizing to read such statements and stance from one in such a high position of authority.

What really lies beneath all those words?

    Only God knows.

May truth and justice prevail always.

Take care and thanks for sharing.

    Have a good rest!

    Cheers!

Anonymous He is not a stateman but just a politician. Such a man I give zero respect for he can'y even differentiate race and citizenship. Even have the cheek to named himself by race before nationhood.

We need more of God's grace if such a man ever sits on the highest man of the nation. Have yet to show what substance he have for the good of the country but at every opportunity the wors spoken don't seem to be for the general welfare.

If the minister for education cannot even handle simple task like this, can we expect him to handle even bigger issue facing the nation ? We have no other choice but the clearest of all, to vote wisely to have a new govt for the people with decisive leaders.

More should speak up and pressure him to make a stand and to take action. Otherwise, what will happen? Delays and more delays until all is forgotten?

Take care and thank you for your civic conscious comment. Have a blessed week!

    Shalom
