I always love puzzles, riddles and jokes because these keep me mentally and intellectually stimulated. The adrenalin rush when I get to solve a puzzle e.g. sudoku or MENSA stuff - is absolutely fabulous. I hope that you will enjoy this selection of puzzles and solve them before scrolling down for the solutions. Enjoy! Have a nice day :-)!

1. You are a prisoner sentenced to death. The Emperor offers you a chance to live by playing a simple game. He gives you 50 black marbles, 50 white marbles and 2 empty bowls. He then says, "Divide these 100 marbles into these 2 bowls. You can divide them any way you like as long as you use all the marbles. Then I will blind-fold you and mix the bowls around. You then can choose one bowl and remove ONE marble. If the marble is WHITE you will live, but if the marble is BLACK... you will die."

How do you divide the marbles up so that you have the greatest probability of choosing a WHITE marble?

2. A man is sitting in a pub feeling rather poor. He sees the man next to him pull a wad of £50 notes out of his wallet. He turns to the rich man and says to him, "I have an amazing talent, I know almost every song that has ever existed." The rich man laughs. The poor man says "I am willing to bet you all
the money you have in your wallet that I can sing a genuine song with a lady's name of your choice in it."

The rich man laughs again and says, "Ok, how about my daughter’s name, Joanna Armstrong-Miller."

The rich man goes home poor. The poor man goes home rich.

What song did he sing?

3. One day a father went to his three sons and told them that he would die soon and he needed to decide which one of them to give his property to. He decided to give them all a test. He said, "Go to the market my sons and purchase something that is large enough to fill my bedroom, but small enough to fit in your pocket. From this I will decide who of you is the wisest and worthy enough to inherit my land." So they all went to the market and bought something that they thought would fill the room, yet was still small enough that they could fit into their pockets. Each son came back with a different item. The father told his sons to come into his bedroom one at a time and try to fill up his bedroom with whatever they had purchased. The first son came in and put some pieces of cloth that he had bought and laid them end to end across
the room, but it barely covered any of the floor. Then the second son came in and laid some hay, that he had purchased, on the floor but there was only enough to cover half of the floor. The third son came in and showed his father what he had purchased and how it could fill the entire room yet still fit into his pocket. The father replied "You are truly the wisest of all and you shall receive my property." What was it that the son had showed to his father?

this possible?

cage. What am I?

7. Removing an appendix is called an appendectomy, and removing tonsils is
called a tonsilectomy. What is it called when they remove a growth from your head?

8. A man was found murdered on Sunday morning. His wife immediately called
the police. The police questioned the wife and staff and got these alibis:

The Wife said she was sleeping.

The Cook was cooking breakfast.

The Gardener was picking vegetables.

The Maid was getting the mail.

The Butler was cleaning the closet.

The police instantly arrested the murderer. Who did it and how did they know?

ANSWERS:

1. Place 1 white marble in one bowl, and place the rest of the marbles in the other bowl (49 whites, and 50 blacks). Place the black marbles in the bowl first and cover them with the white ones. This way you begin with a 50/50 chance of choosing the bowl with just one white marble, therefore life! BUT even if you choose the other bowl, you still have a good chance at picking one of the 49 white marbles.

2. Happy Birthday
