To My Dearest Wife
During the past year, I have attempted to make love to you 365 times.
I have succeeded 36 times, which is an average of only once every 10 days.
The following is a list of why I didn't succeed more often:
We will wake the kids - 54 times
It's too late - 15 times
I'm too tired - 42 times
It's too early - 12 times
It's too hot - 18 times
Pretending to be asleep - 31 times
The neighbors will hear - 9 times
Headache or backache - 26 times
Sunburn - 10 times
Your mother will hear us - 9 times
Not in the mood - 21 times
Watching the late show - 17 times
Too sore - 26 times
New hairdo - 6 times
Wrong time of the month - 14 times
You had to go to the bathroom - 19 times
Of the 36 times that I DID succeed, the result was not always satisfying because 6 times you just laid there,
8 times you reminded me that there was a crack in the ceiling,
4 times you told me to hurry up and get it over with,
7 times I had to wake you up to tell you I was finished, and once I was afraid that I had hurt you because you started thrashing around and breathing heavy.
Lets try to improve this, shall we??
Love, Your Hubby
-------------------------
To My Dearest Husband,
I think things are a little confused. Here are the REAL reasons you didn't get more than you did this past year:
Came home drunk and tried to screw the cat - 23 times
Did not come home at all - 36 times
Did not come - 21 times
Came too soon - 38 times
Went soft before you got it in - 19 times
Cramps in your leg - 16 times
Working too late - 33 times
You had a rash, probably from a toilet seat - 29 times
Caught yourself in your zipper - 15 times
You had a cold and your nose kept running - 21 times
You had burned your tongue on hot coffee - 9 times
You had a splinter in your finger - 11 times
You lost the notion after thinking about it - 42 times
Came in your pajamas after reading a dirty book - 16 times
The reason I laid still was because you had missed me and were screwing the sheet.
You seemed to be having a good time and I didn't want to move and spoil it for you.
I wasn't talking about the crack in the ceiling.
What I said was, Would you like me on my back or kneeling?
The time I was thrashing around and gasping was when you farted and I was fighting for air.
Maybe you can work on your shortcomings?

Having a dog is more challenging than having our own children. Unlike children who can tell us how they feel esp when they are sick, our dogs can only whine or look mournfully at us. Over the weekend, Tiger had been very ill as I had stupidly changed his kibble diet for 3 consecutive days. I forgot he is a dog and thought he would enjoy variety in his meals.
He started vomiting once on Friday then twice on Saturday. By Sunday morning, his condition worsened. The poor darling scratched the sofa to let me know he threw up there. By 9 p.m., he had thrown up four times and was so weak. Yet, he stuck close to me never letting me out of his sight. Even when I went to the bathroom, he waited outside the shower cubicle patiently. Seeing his delicate condition, I prayed and interceded like I never had for four consecutive hours, crying to God to have mercy on Tiger and to comfort and heal him.
Watching him lie on his side yearning to be close to me and for me to caress and comfort him melted my heart. Looking most helpless, his eyes still shone with so much ♥ as if to say...hey mum...thanks for being here for me. I just laid hands on his tummy and prayed and prayed...through it all, my husband was steadfastly believing Tiger would be ok. By 2.30a.m, Tiger zzz but woke up at 3.30a.m. and scratched the door - his usual let-me-out-of-the-bedroom signal. The minute i opened the door, pooooooi...turbo vomit and splat..
Another puddle of greenish brownish puke pudding.
Head hung low, Tiger turned to me as if to say, 'I'm sorry, mum. You have to clean up my puke pudding again. Soon after cleaning up, i sat beside him as he lay on his side on his doggy bed in the sitting room. After a while, his breathing stabilised. I got up, turned to him and said, 'Tiger, let's sleep in mummy's room.' Slowly, he followed me upstairs and this time, slept in his little corner with his teddy bear. Still, I prayed till I fell asleep. This morning, Tiger seems to be back to his normal self. God is good and listens to the cries from our heart because all creatures great and small, the Lord God loves us all.
Special thanks to Poh Ai and Eric, Tiger's groomer for their invaluable advice! I thank God He healed Tiger and am sure Tiger has forgiven repentant and forgetful mum for changing the kibbles without the 50:50 combo. Truly, Tiger has touched my life and changed me for the better in so many ways because canine lessons from him last forever. I ♥♥♥ you, Tiger!!!
Everyone has that guy friend who habitually (and understandably) complains that he always attracts 'crazy' women. These women tend to be extremely insecure, manipulative, unbalanced and emotionally unstable. As Dr. Tara J. Palmatier points out, the reason such men typically habitually end up in such relationships is because they choose to relive early childhood traumas. But before we discuss what motivates men to unconsciously seek out such titillating but ultimately poor relationship choices, we should first define what we mean by 'crazy.' The sort of women in mind are those diagnosed with at least one Cluster B personality disorder.
Cluster B of personality disorders are those categorized in the DSM-IV as 'erratic/dramatic', and include antisocial personality disorder, borderline personality disorder, narcissistic personality disorder and histrionic personality disorder. A great deal of overlap between these disorders is acknowledged in a large body of psychiatric literature, and anyone properly diagnosed with any of these personality disorders makes an extremely toxic romantic partner. There is also a very poor prognosis associated with these disorders. Such people (in this case, women) are highly unlikely to ever exhibit any significant change or insight into their own behavior, or improve their condition.

There are a few temptations that can ruin your relationship, no matter how much you love your man. Unfortunately, we sometimes have desires that lead to destruction and ruin even the strongest relationships. That’s why I decided to share this list of 7 temptations that can ruin your relationship that you need to be aware of.
1. Constant lying
When you did something that you know your boyfriend or husband wouldn’t approve of, it can be tempting to lie to him about it. While it can be easy to lie, your lies will haunt you down the road. If you really love each other, you should never be afraid to tell the truth, no matter how hard it can be. A strong relationship is never based on lies. Remember it.

2. Desire to cheat on your partner
One of the worst temptations that ruin your relationships is the desire to cheat on your partner. If you are in a long lasting relationship and you meet another man, everything can become so complicated. The only way to maintain your relationship strong is to refuse to give into that dangerous temptation, if you really love your partner.
3. Stealing your partner’s things
When you are in a long term-relationship and you are living together, it can be tempting to steal your partner’s clothes or cash without asking him. While many couples are okay with it, others are not comfortable. Your boyfriend/husband has the right to know what you take or how much money you take. Don’t take anything without his permission and you will avoid lots of fights.
4. Spending more time with friends
When you are in a very long-term relationship, you might get jealous of all of the parties and free time your friends (especially single ones) have. But, don’t allow the temptation of alone time to ruin your relationship. Don’t forget that you can spend time with your friends; you just need to discuss it with your partner and rearrange your schedule.

Thanks to Angela who shared this beautiful story by Scott Kalechstein via email. I googled for more info and found the writer has his own site and another one for his songs.
The Examiner published the story that Angela shared on Father's Day.
Here is the excerpt:
"For my father and I, both expertly trained in the self-defense of hiding our hearts to cover up our hurt, our current relationship is somewhat of a miracle. We are both finding out that love is stronger than steel, and that the pain of the past can be put behind us. For men in this culture to be more interested in being close than in being right is something to celebrate!"
~~ From essay Finding My Father by Scott Kalechstein
Below is a Father's Day story of profound healing between son and father. This inspiring essay shows how even the thickest walls between people can be broken down when one person decides to make a sincere effort and take responsibility for their part in the drama. Finding My Father
by Scott Kalechstein
(Note: Published with permission.)
"Good work, Scott. Now it's time to find your father."
When I participated in a retreat with my Mom in 1991, those were the last words the facilitator spoke to me. Find my father? What did he mean by that? Somehow I knew healing my relationship with Dad was vital, but how to go about it was another story. At the time the gulf between us seemed insurmountable, and I did not take the facilitator's words to heart. My feelings of being criticized and rejected by Dad were my deepest wound.
Before he was 30, my father fought in World War II, became a doctor, and married my mother. Their first two children were girls, and then I, the final one, plopped out. I can imagine my father's excitement about having a son, someone to guide from boyhood to manhood, to continue the family name, someone to be proud of, perhaps even someone to follow in his footsteps. In my early years I was the apple of his eye, and he was my knight in shining armor. We played sports and games, and often went fishing together.

Love, say the poets, makes the world go round. Love is the most powerful force there is, and when in throes of true love, you are floating somewhere in the clouds, unbound to earth. Indeed, love has been the inspiration behind countless works of art, books, movies, plays and musical pieces. Some, it seems, would build a monument to their love, to declare it with stone and mortar.
Castles seem to be a supreme statement of true love, built with great hardship and expense, to serve as a romantic home taken out of a fairy tale, and to live in it happily ever after. The irony is, that many of these castles built for love were also the homes of tragedy. Here are the stories of 10 legendary castles, built for love.

You can be the difference...and you can make the difference. :-)
I just love this song...and all it means...Beautiful lyrics..speaking of ...
A love that lasts...a love that grows...a love that brings out the best in us...May each of you have that kind of love that lasts through the years...
A love that does not abandon...or quit
But one that abides through the years...
The following article is from Daily Mail. Thanks to Mr TSK who shared it via email. It is really a very heartbreaking story and a testimony to the pure love that children have for their parents.
A seven-year-old boy battling brain cancer sacrificed his life to save his mother's by giving her his kidney.
Chen Xiaotian was just five when doctors found a malignant tumour in his brain, months before his mother Zhou Lu, 34, contracted kidney disease.
Despite early signs he would recover, the disease aggressively returned, and he was told he would not reach adulthood.

Here's the thing about love: it's hard to put into words. Love brings up emotions that run the gamut from agony to ecstasy, and can inspire us to accomplish some of the craziest and most amazing feats. Luckily, some the world's greatest artists, poets and performers have managed to articulate the magic of love. Here are 50 of the best quotes that ever passed the lips of famous lovers. We couldn't have put these better ourselves.
Love is quite simply a natural high.
1. "The best love is the kind that awakens the soul; that makes us reach for more, that plants the fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds. That’s what I hope to give you forever." — The Notebook

3. "The greatest happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved; loved for ourselves, or rather, loved in spite of ourselves." — Victor Hugo

9. "With love one can live even without happiness." — Fyodor Dostoyevsky
10. "It's a very dangerous state. You are inclined to recklessness and kind of tune out the rest of your life and everything that's been important to you. It's actually not all that pleasurable. I don't know who the hell wants to get in a situation where you can't bear an hour without somebody's company." — Colin Firth
11. "It's an unexplainable feeling, an expression. It's a touch, it's a feel. Once you feel it, it's like no other thing in the world." — Snoop Dogg on love

The following article is from The Daily Mail. I hope they will also feature one on what men need to know about women.
Excerpt:
You can’t read your man’s mind (however much you try) – but there are other ways to find out how he’s feeling, says marital therapist Andrew G Marshall
There are missing voices in the debate about what makes for good relationships: men’s. Women share their needs but most men remain inscrutably tight-lipped. Fortunately, as a marital therapist, I’ve spent 30 years teasing out men’s feelings and helping them make sense of what they want. By sharing this knowledge, I hope to promote happy, smooth-running relationships. But, just as importantly, if you’ve hit a bad patch, these insights can help explain why your husband has turned into a stranger and stop you descending into crisis.
1. Men outsource their emotions to women
We men have been brought up to act on, rather than examine our feelings. It doesn’t mean that we’re not capable of understanding our emotions but, on the whole, we’ve outsourced their day-to-day management to our wife. She will remind us to phone our mum, interpret what’s going on beneath the surface with our stroppy teenage daughter and come up with a strategy for defusing the rows. And if we have a real problem, such as depression or anxiety attacks, she will flag it up and send us off to one of the army of women in the caring professions.
Dangers of ignoring this truth
What happens if the person we have the problem with is our wife? For example, we’ve slipped down her priority list and feel taken for granted. In an ideal world, we would talk to her, but what if she feels attacked or dismisses our concerns? The typical man shuts down and hopes that if he pretends the problem doesn’t exist, it won’t. As this strategy is doomed to failure, he becomes prone to what seems to be – to his wife at least – irrational anger. What he can’t say, because his wife hasn’t sat down with him and helped him understand, is what he’s annoyed about in particular – for example, her habit of contradicting him in front of the children. But more importantly, he gets annoyed with his wife for not making everything better and therefore not keeping her end of the marriage deal to ‘tend his emotional life’. In the worst cases, he starts talking to a woman at work and awards her the contract instead!

What a touching post! Thank you, Mr LYK, for sharing this!
For six decades, Floreen and Ed Hale have been inseparable, and even death could not keep them apart.
On February 7, Mrs Hale, 82, passed away in a Batavia, New York, hospital, with her gravely ill husband lying next to her and holding her hand until the very end.
Just 36 hours later, Ed Hale died at age 83.
'He was a gentleman right up to the end, waiting for her to go first,' the Hales' daughter Renee Hirsh told the blog Orlean Hub, which profiled her parents.
A month ago, a wheelchair-bound Mr Hale was hospitalized in Rochester, New York, with kidney failure.
On February 4, his wife was rushed to United Methodist Medical Center in Batavia 35 miles away suffering from congestive heart failure, among other ailments.

Today, a former student of mine, Jarno Schweizer, shared this beautiful poem by Lisa Citore (2008) on his FB wall.
Excerpt:
When a fairly spiritual male friend of mine who had finally found and was deepening into committed relationship with his soul mate confided in me he was thinking of being single again, and in the next breath expressed his latest idea for raising consciousness worldwide, I wrote this poem.
If you want to change the world… love a woman-really love her.
Find the one who calls to your soul, who doesn’t make sense.
Throw away your check list and put your ear to her heart and listen.
Hear the names, the prayers, the songs of every living thing-
every winged one, every furry and scaled one,
every underground and underwater one, every green and flowering one,
every not yet born and dying one…
Hear their melancholy praises back to the One who gave them life.
If you haven’t heard your own name yet, you haven’t listened long enough.
If your eyes aren’t filled with tears, if you aren’t bowing at her feet,
you haven’t ever grieved having almost lost her.

1. It is possible to love someone who doesn’t love you back. It’s not a full love, it doesn’t have a whole lot of depth, but it’s still there.
2. People always say that you have to love yourself before anyone else can love you but that’s not really true. You can be loved even if you hate yourself. It’s just not going to be healthy. It’s not going to be the best kind of love.
3. Falling in love is nature’s drug and you can OD on it.
4. Emotionally OD. Not, like, actual death. Ew.
5. It’s so painful to have loved someone once and then never again. Sometimes you’ll wish it never happened just so you didn’t know how good it felt.
6. Then you remember that quote “It’s better to have loved and lost than to have ever loved at all” and you’re like, “okay, fine.”
7. You will never love someone quite the same way you do the first time.
8. In most cases, this is a good thing. The first time is fucking insane.
9. It’s a beautiful moment when you realize you are someone who’s worth loving.
10. And it’s an even harder moment when you temporarily forget it.
11. Sex doesn’t always bring people closer. Sometimes it just exposes the weaknesses in the relationship.
12. That being said, a relationship can survive on good sex for a disturbing amount of time.
13. Someone you love will betray you. You can’t go through this life without it.
14. You can’t force yourself to love someone. If it’s not there, it’s not going to happen. Ever.
15. Everyone is an idiot when it comes to matters of the heart. Love is the great equalizer. Whenever you feel intimidated by someone’s coolness, just imagine them sobbing in their bedroom after someone broke their heart. I guarantee it’s happened.
16. Love doesn’t always feel like brain orgasms. Sometimes it feels the best when it’s at its most subtle, like when it’s 3 p.m. on a Sunday and you’re reading a book with your feet entangled with someone else’s on the couch. You look around you for a second and realize that you’ve never felt safer. Ironically, it’s the quieter moments that will leave the most indelible mark.
17. Everyone wants to be loved. Everyone wants to rely on someone. For a lot of people, it’s their Achilles heel. Love is the reason why they made most of their mistakes.
18. At its best, love can feel better than heroin. At its worst, it can feel like heroin withdrawal.
19. I’ve never done heroin though so this is purely speculation.
20. Finding love is the unconscious motivator for a lot of the things we do. It’s why we work out, it’s why we go to a bar on a Saturday night when we really don’t want to, it’s why we agree to meet strangers off the internet.
21. Don’t be embarrassed if you’ve never been in love before. You have a ton of company.
22. When you fall in love with someone, be prepared for the possibility that you might hate them one day.
23. You will always have that one ex who will stick in your mind. They’ll feel like a perpetual dull ache in your side.
24. Love will make you into the best and worst version of yourself, often in the same night.
25. Love is the reason why we’re all here. Well, most of us anyway.
In today's world, anything can happen and SEEING is believing.
This 60 year old lady married a 28 year old young man.
The man is a Chinese national badminton player.
What a sensation!
Is it possible for a 60 year-old thrice-married woman to marry a handsome 28 year-old Chinese badminton star, who is himself from a rich family background?
Perhaps this is because she looks more like 30 than 60! I guess anything is possible in China nowadays.
For those who can't read Mandarin, here's the translation: (Hoi, what kind of england translation is this? hehehe)
Liu's fourth marriage
Liu Xiaoqing 60? She looks like she is still in her 30s.
Liu Xiaoqing 60, Yi Gang 28, recently married in San Francisco. Difference of 32 years but the picture looks hottie, not nausea.
But Liu's 33 years old, easy to just be a year old baby, think it is very scary.
Liu Xiaoqing say nothing of the introduction, the Chinese badminton national team Yi Gang, Liu Xiaoqing guy broker, Chinese-American Long live the United States.
Yi Gang good family background, his family was wealthy, like Liu Xiaoqing non covet wealth. The problem is older than Yi Liu's parents just a little bigger, I do not know how to call the future?
Thanks to Mr TSK who shared this post (not written by me, not corrected either..) which I believe is a translation that someone shared with Mr TSK who shared it with me, and now I am sharing with my blog readers.
For sure, when I am 60, I hope to have that complexion and figure...dreaming :-)
Angela sent me a link to a clip here.
Feeling curious, I surfed the net and came across the original posting HERE.
Had I watched this last year or in the past, I would have howled. Older, wiser and definitely NOT as sentimental as I used to be, my eyes were misty but no tears shed.
I guess life experiences have toughened and hardened me to adopt a pragmatic approach to life and to coat myself with a veneer of resilience and not sentimentalism.
Still, it is a beautiful story which should be watched as a reminder that love endures...no matter what.
The Fork is about a Holocaust survivor who encourages her soon-to-be-wed granddaughter. We can't control all the events of life but we can control how we look at them.

Have a beautiful day!
Whenever I am in a romantic mood, I kind of dream of the kind of wedding my sons can have when they finally walk down the aisle with the chosen one.
"Mooooooom! It's gonna be my weddingggggg!" is the imaginary jolt to reality which might cut through my daydreams.
I spent the whole afternoon watching many YouTube clips and of all that I watched, a few stand out brilliantly.
1. Even after all these years, I still love Amy's Song which I have posted before.
2. Funny First Wedding Dance HERE.
3. Another FUNNY WEDDING DANCE. Just be patient as the action begins only after 1.5 mins :-)
4. I just uploaded one of my former student's wedding held in Oct 2012.. The first time I met Lawrence in 2010, I already knew he and Katherine are a match made in heaven. Her wedding speech is one of the most touching ones that I have ever heard. That evening, my heart burst with joy and pride knowing my former English and Economics student has not only found true love and happiness, but has become most expressive and eloquent.
And, the video that made me cryyyyyyyyy and want to be young again, fall in love again to get married is definitely the following one which has garnered more than 20 MILLION views. Do leave a comment to share your thoughts. Enjoy the video and have a great weekend!
P.S. I've watched the video six times and am watching it for the seventh time now! I really miss my younger days when I organized and choreographed musical dramas and presentations. Oh - to be young again!!
Thanks to Mr TSK who shared this very beautiful and touching speech given by a father at the daughter's wedding.
