I never knew that fiends without brains can continue to prove that they lack that which they think they have and blindly go on a rampage to prove just that. Without exaggeration, I wonder if real demons flee when they see these malevolent fiends with diabolical schemes.
A new dawn turned into a blooming nightmare and all you have to do is to visit the various websites in my country and you can begin to understand the muted anger and subtlety of this message.
It is easy to be downcast when tough times hit us, when all that many worked for fizzled out because of deceit, selfishness, moral deprivation, greed and conniving devils in the flesh. Tragically, many labored, campaigned and saw their dreams go up in smoke.
Are the vicious, vile, heinous fiends gloating? You bet. Feasting too, probably.
Do they have a soul? I wonder how well they will sleep knowing that they have outdone any production house from the West to the East, from the North to the South, even beyond the animal kingdom. Run out of ideas for the next blockbuster? Take a page from this book called "The Scandalous Spectacle of a Shredded Democracy". Guaranteed to sell, to knock you out, blow your brains out to smithereens because what you see is beyond imagination, beyond the celluloid world, ethereal, surreal or neanderthal?
Conscience? That word is not in their vocabulary.
Fame or notoriety? Justice or evil? Freedom or subjugation? Democracy or autocracy? Warriors for the right cause or renegades? Honor or disgrace?
For many, the choice is for the former but for the malevolent characters that stealthily strike leaving no stone unturned, the latter is the name of the game. Silver can become soot. Historical towns transformed into war zones where it is not even safe to eat in a restaurant any more.
*shudder*
Reminds me of a story from never-never land..
Once upon a time, there was a kindergarten with one class where the pupils disputed who should be the class monitor. No matter how loud the cries, the teacher watched with folded arms and allowed madness to rule. Two groups of students quarreled and shot paper bullets at each other. One group brazenly met with the assistant monitor and kicked out the rightful monitor. When other students protested, they were sent to the principal's office. Now, tell me. What did those kids learn from that institution? How and what do you think they will teach their children and grandchildren in years to come?
But we must not give up or be disheartened. Anger is also bad for the soul and body. What can we do?
Simple.
Consolidate. Reinforce. Strengthen from within.
To stoop to their level is anathema!
A wise and understanding heart does not repay a hurt with a hurt. In doing so, the heart is diminished. Fissures form. Love leaks out. Every pain given in return for one received, changes the contents of the heart. It is no longer defined by love, wisdom and understanding. It is redefined by the bearers of hurt and hate, pain and prejudice, meanness and madness, sorrow and sadness. You give away control of your very own heart. That must not happen.
The despair of being hurt is healed by overcoming it, not clinging to the hurt and inflicting more of it on the world. When darkness is added to darkness, no one can see, no one can love.
Everyone loses. But the one who upholds integrity and honor will make milestones in life while those who walk in the opposite direction will forever be embedded in the hall of disgrace. They are human but devoid of heart, soul, spirit and conscience.
The fight for just cause may not always be warm and fuzzy. Indeed, the road to justice is a long and winding one indeed.
It's integrity we hold on to when we're tempted to strike back.
It's honor that keeps us from exchanging the valuable contents of our heart for the harsh satisfaction of lashing back.
No, the way of truth is not always easy, but when night falls, dawn is assured.
The integrity and honor of a wise and understanding heart, rises with the sun of a new day.
And rise we must. Reflect...Consolidate...Reinforce and be ready the next time, ensuring that there are no loopholes, no complacency and no cause for complain or ground for the devils to attack.
A new day will come.....

shinelight Wow! I have never seen such an emotional outburst from you before. But it is good that you let it out in words rather than punch someone in the face. *grin* Though you did not word it explicitly, I can guess what was upsetting you. Maybe if we do meet one day we can talk at great length about what made you so mad today.
Well, today is a great day for Singapore. Terrific Thursday! It was announced this morning that the alert status level for H1N1 flu was brought down to yellow and this means that there is no need now to continue with the temperature taking exercise. What was very heartening for me is that when the emergency alert was made last weekend requiring educational institutions, civil service and private companies to start on the temperature taking exercise, I notice everyone was more than happy to oblige. Everyone knew how important it was for them to monitor their health and the concern of others was top on their priority too. Thermometers ran out within a few days and those who manage to locate places that still had stocks bought extra thermometers to be given to their colleagues (even for free!). It became second nature for everyone to take their temperature every morning without anyone prompting them to do so. I am so proud that as a nation we realise our roles and how each and every one of us contribute to the well-being of the nation. When we sang the national anthem today (today was also public service day), I am again reminded how fortunate I am be a citizen of this tiny yet great and beloved nation, Singapore.

Unknown Dear Shinelight,
*hugs*
Thanks, love. It has been a long time since I let it all out. Usually, I am very restrained...*sigh*
Yes, I would love to meet up with you. I have this weird feeling that somehow I know you...I have quite a number of friends from Singapore in the educ industry and I am wondering if you are Sarah, Suan Sim, Christine (Susan Loh's sis)...???
I will be going down in a couple of months' time and perhaps we could meet up :-) and play Granada too!
My younger boy loves Singapore and intends to study there and if he does, I will be moving there too :-).
About eight of my friends are doctors/specialists in Singapore and they never fail to tell me about how your nation rises to the occasion in the event of a health threat. Most admirable indeed!
You are definitely very blessed to be in that nation!!!
Hope to meet you one day, Shinelight. Thanks and God bless you.
cheers

I was so angry that I immediately donated funds to the Anwar's camp. I am too upset to continue now as I forced myself to stop typing any further in case I say things I will regret later.
Hugs

Unknown Hi Uncle John
I know how you feel. Any sane human being would be outraged by what happened in Ipoh!
I wonder if it will get worse the next time round.
Take care!

Tiger Hi MWS,
I'm from that "state" and I'm disgusted and so angry....I could do and say a lot of things but I'm in control.
Your article sums it up.
We have until 2013 to reflect, consolidate and reinforce.
No need rush into anything now.
PS. That was one scary pic.
-
Unknown Dear Tiger,
I empathize with you. I come from another state and already I am so incensed...what more those who are silver-plated?
Wait till 2013???? Things might be even worse by then!!!!
Ya lah - I purposely chose the scariest picture :-)
Whatever it is, we must have hope and pray for change to happen!
Take care and have a lovely weekend!
cheers

Anonymous I am not really into politic. I know for a fact that richer countries now are all democratic society. Why these politicians are so dumb, cannot see the truth.
-
Unknown Dear Amanda,
Even for rich societies like America, the leaders are also facing problems in their democratic system although not to such an extent like hours.
Thanks for sharing, Amada.
Take care and do pop by again.
God bless you.
Starmandala Inspiringly passionate, thank you! :-)
