To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.
To weep is to risk being called sentimental.
To reach out to another is to risk involvement.
To expose feelings is to risk showing your true self.
To place your ideas and your dreams before a crowd
is to risk being called naive.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To live is to risk dying.
To hope is to risk despair, and to try is to risk failure.
But risks must be taken, because the greatest risk in life
is to risk nothing.
The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing,
is nothing, and becomes nothing.
He may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he simply cannot
learn and feel and change and grow and love and live.
Chained by things that are certain, he is a slave.
He has forefeited his freedom.
Only the person who risks is truly free.

Unknown Dear Tiger,
True. Life IS a risk and risk-taking teaches us courage, resilience and the ability to pick ourselves up after we fall.
Sometimes when I did not dare take the risk, I know I lost LOTS in the learning and growing process.
And those times when I took the risk, I grumbled, moaned, whined etc but later, realized that it was well worth it for all the fruits of character I harvested.
Life's journey can be one filled with potholes but it is all up to us to really live it to the max and to enjoy it like you do :-).
Take care and God bless, Tiger.
Thanks so much for sharing.
Have a good day!
.
Tiger Unfortunately, some people don't get it.
Life IS about risk.
You take a risk every day of your life, in your work, in your decisions, who to love.
I have risked a lot, and lost a lot.
But looking back, what fun I had along the way!
