WHEN FACING ADVERSITY...

My post on CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS? yesterday and another post on WHO IS ROCKING THE BOAT? were on Perkasa and the damaging statements made by some of their leaders. I am sure some are very outraged by the damning statements and may give up the good fight. DON'T! In the face of such challenges, all the more we have to unite, fortify ourselves and persevere in the cause.

This morning, I thought I'd share a poem by Z. Vujcic called DON'T GIVE UP and also some inspiring quotes with the hope that we will not be discouraged and never despair over the deeds or words of some characters with questionable intentions to hurt others. I hope the words of wisdom in this post inspire us to press on to keep on moving towards our goal for Malaysia!

DON'T GIVE UP
written by Z. Vujcic

Today life gave you another slap
but don't give it up
throwing your towel in the ring
for things gone wrong, for words that sting
'cos there must be another way
you will see it in the light of another day

When everything seems sour, not in your favour
look around until you find better flavour
so, don't just give but live it up

pick up the pieces, be tough
grind your teeth and turn another cheek
don't give it up, that's exactly what they seek

It's too easy to walk away
quitter never wins so you should better stay
look challenges straight in the eye

don't say yet the last good-bye
fight like an animal in a trap
but don't give it up

Once you learn to quit, it becomes a habit. Vince Lombardi

Persist while others are quitting. William Arthur Ward

Effort only fully releases its reward after a person refuses to quit. Napoleon Hill

Some people fold after making one timid request. They quit too soon. Keep asking until you find the answers. In sales there are usually four or five "no's" before you get a "yes." Jack Canfield

Success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit. Conrad Hilton

If you live long enough, you’ll make mistakes. But if you learn from them, you’ll be a better person. It’s how you handle adversity, not how it affects you. The main thing is never quit, never quit, never quit. Bill Clinton

The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing. Walt Disney

It’s always too early to quit. Norman Vincent Peale

A quitter never wins and a winner never quits. Napoleon Hill

Remember: The road to success is not straight. There is a curb called Failure, a loop called Confusion; speed bumps called Friends; red lights called Enemies;caution lights called Family. You will have flats called jobs. But, if you have a spare called Determination; an engine called Perseverance; insurance called Faith, and a driver called Hope, you will make it to a place called Success!!

Do swing by later for my report on the GST Forum held last night. Please leave a comment if you wish to share your thoughts. Thanks! Have a nice day!

    romerz Hi Paula,

Saw you at the GST forum but before I could go greet you, you had left - sorry.

I would have preferred to read your posting first on the subject of GST before I wrote mine but do let me know what you think of my piece on the forum we attended.

    Thanks.

    Unknown Hi Romerz

Good morning! So sorry I did not get to say 'hi' to you. I had to buzz off asap after the forum as I was so tired yesterday - started my fitness program and cycling and with my whole body aching, I had to hit the sack! Yes, I read your piece which got picked up by MT. Well done - very good piece which I hope will get you in the groove again. :-)

I will do my piece on GST later as I did a preliminary yesterday as well. Don't want to overkill the topic. In the mean time, take care and see you at the next forum on Health Care on the 20th.

    Have a lovely day!

    Warmest wishes

Justice Reality is a place of fierce struggle, a veritable battleground. All sorts of vicious power struggles are taking place in the muck of society.
Since we intend to foster political leaders who uphold human rights and social justice principles, we need to be sufficiently prepared for this.

Let's keep a sharp watch on the government, be it BN or PR!

Once again, thanks for yet another gem of wisdom from Daisaku Ikeda. With so many strange characters with even stranger agendas around, we need such words of inspiration to keep us plodding on no matter what!

Unknown I have read a article named "The brewing storm of GST" by romerz.blogspot.com. In the article, the writer agreed that GST need to be implemented but not today where the BN government is corrupting the money from rakyat. GST can only be implemented if the government are clean from corruption and the rakyat income gap (between poor and rich) are not so obvious.

Rakyat may not understand how corruption in-dirrectly affect us because they didn't see the money value but GST will affect us directly. GST can become a tool for us to fight the monster government that do not care about the rakyat.

If we have the data and detail that how GST will affect the rakyat life (by using actual example of good price), then we can explain to friends and neighbours on how the GST will affect them, and ask them to support Anti-GST and vote PR to bring down BN the monster.

The main pioint here is, we need to get the detail of GST which show dollar and cent how the good & service price will hike and cause the people life more difficult to survive. With this explanation than the people will understand how bad the GST will affect us. Thus, hopefully the rakyat especially the low-educated rakyat will understand the situation and support anti-GST and support PR.

    Unknown Dear Chong

I was also at the Forum last night but delayed writing my post cos I was too tired from cycling 6km yesterday :-(. Getting old.

I wrote 25 pages of notes and will be doing a series on the GST based on that and also what I have read up. It IS a very serious threat to our nation and we MUST unite to object to the implementation, failing which, we are scr**ed big time!

I do have the statistics re the issues you have highlighted cos I have been researching the topic. Did a preliminary post on that two days ago...Check it out.

Thanks for being a civic-minded and caring Malaysian.

My next post is on an anti-LGE article carried by the MSM.

Take care and please keep in touch.

    Cheers
