I learnt the difference between a traveller and a tourist when i followed 3 friends to Phuket by car. We saw so much and dropped by at every town on the way.
After a week's stay in the island, we headed home on the way to Hat Yai we got caught by the flood. In the middle of nowhere, we were stranded and had to sleep under the sky. Instead of getting irritated with the inconveniences, it was fun, not knowing what to expect next.
We made several detours to get out of the situation as soon as daybreak. We talked to the truck drivers for directions. Finally we managed to cross over to the Malaysian side, only to be stranded again in Jitra where we had to spend a night.
