Here We Go Again!

It is very easy to fan the fire of hatred, especially if there were similar episodes in the past. Nonetheless, we must always let our heads and not hearts rule. To be fair, we have to look at the facts and be rational in our judgement. Otherwise, we will be going round and round in a carousel of confusion and resentment.

The Malaysian Insider reported today that a Muslim school principal was forced to defend herself today when word spread that she had allegedly called the Indian community “pariahs” during a school assembly this morning.

SMK Taman Tasik Ampang headmistress Zaini Mohd Zin told The Malaysian Insider that while she admitted to using the word once during her speech, she had merely been quoting from the controversial “Interlok” novel. Click here to read the rest of the report.

I guess some went into overdrive in their reaction because of previous incidents that occurred last year. Since then, they have been suspended and transferred out as mentioned in a report HERE.

It is heartening to read the supportive statements of K. Nadarajah, who is the school’s afternoon supervisor who ame to her immediate defence when asked if she had uttered the derogatory term.

According to the report:

“I am from the Indian community myself and here, I have worked with over seven or eight bosses before.

“I am not trying to back her because she is my boss but I truly believe that I have never worked with a superior more open-minded and moderate than Zaini,” he said.

He added that Zaini even allowed her Hindu students to take special religious classes during school hours and never objected when he invited religious leaders to give speeches.

“Even a Buddhist monk has entered our school to give talks. I am convinced that she had made those statements without any malice.

“Zaini is not a racist. She is even willing to retract what she said and apologise although her words were taken out of context,” he said.

Nadarajah claimed the incident was being blown out of proportion as certain parties were attempting to use it to their benefit in the ongoing row over the “Interlok” novel.

Let's hope that there can be a proper closure to this episode and that all can try to mend bridges. The school is an important place for us to breed a healthy climate of unity and not hostility. How we manage crisis situations will have an impact on younger ones.

So let's hope that all concerned can put this behind them and move on to greater heights of achievements, unity and harmony.

    michael Madam,
Well put and well said. We should all stay united as Malaysians and not be caught by the mischievous pranks (or whatever you call it)by some people who are bent on creating havoc in our society.

Remember we are Malaysians first and last.

Thanks for your encouraging comments and for standing with me on this issue. We cannot fall prey to those who want to wreck havoc.

Regardless, forgiveness is a virtue which must be practised, especially in this case where she apologised.

May there be more tolerance and unity.

    Cheers

You have to look at the context and what transpired. What is your response then to Mr. K. Nadarajah?

Consider the situation instead of over-reacting.

It is better to foster harmony and unity rather than hatred, intolerance and disunity.

God bless you and yours always.

    Peace be unto you.

    Anonymous Dear MWS,
I am surprised at the goodwill you offer to Anon #2. It is beyond clear that your writings suggest that you are totally anti-racism, the racist moron chose to ignore that. Believe me, while the moron may appear to be anti-racism, he (or she) are the ones who will, after ranting about the minority being marginalized, will vote for a race based party. Of course, he'll try to deny it, but he will, when it comes to voting, give it to MIC.

He is the type of racist Malaysian that made the nation as divided as it is today.

Thanks so much for being honest. I have a very good idea wrt the identity of Anon # 2 :-) and am according goodwill that enlightenment may hit this person. Hatred begets hatred. Love and tolerance is the way. To get angry at such a comment would fulfil that person's agenda/objective but it is more important to spread tolerance by example than to succumb to the bait.

Nonetheless, I do agree with your views. Of course one wonders if the reaction would be the same if the shoe was on the other foot. Accountability will be ultimately to our Maker.

Malaysians cannot afford to have such narrow and childish tit-for-tat views which, as you rightly pointed out dear StraightTalking, is probably why some remain divided, blinded and closeted in their warped perspectives of life and society.

As always, I appreciate your friendship, support in standing up for justice and for me when the situation warrants and most of all, for your power-packed input in this blog. Miss your writings! *hint* :-)

Take care and do keep in touch!

    Warmest wishes

Anonymous You’d answered well, MWS ! To argue with a man/woman who has renounced the use of reasoning is like administering
    medicine to the dead.

Never allows hatred to blind us and anger to consume our joy. Accept not the negative until you have thoroughly explored the positive. There is the unpolished diamond in each individual for we are all from the same creator.

What a blessing it would be if we, Malaysians could open and shut our ears as easily as we open and shut our eyes. We will
certainly embrace true Merdeka once again !

Anonymous You're welcome. I mean, some body has to stand against racist retards like Anon #2 or they will think that they're heroes. Just look at his moronic but satanic remarks and you can smell this masterbating racist's cum a mile away. I'm sorry for being rude and blunt, but I don't take kindly to racists of any kind, whether local or foreign.

I'll say this to those who are new to this blog - Among all the sopo blogs currently active in Malaysia, I can say with absolute certainty that MWS is the MOST upright anti-racism blog I've ever come across. Until today I cannot find a single post or article that even remotely suggest that MWS has a racist slant. For a moron to come in and dispute this really puts me on fire.
