An Aussie truckie walks into an outback cafe with a full-grown emu behind him. The waitress asks them for their orders.
The truckie says, 'A hamburger, chips and a coke,' and turns to the emu, 'What's yours?'
'I'll have the same,' says the emu.
A short time later the waitress returns with the order 'That will be $9.43 please,'
and he reaches into his pocket and pulls out the exact change for payment.
The next day, the man and the emu come again and he says, 'A hamburger, chips and a coke.'
The emu says, 'I'll have the same.'
Again the truckie reaches into his pocket and pays with exact change.
This becomes routine until the two enter again.
'The usual?' asks the waitress.
'No, it's Friday night, so I'll have a steak, baked potato and a salad,' says the man..
'Same,' says the emu.
Shortly the waitress brings the order and says, 'That will be $32.63.'
Once again the man pulls the exact change out of his pocket and places it on the table.
The waitress cannot hold back her curiosity any longer.
'Excuse me, mate, how do you manage to always come up with the exact change in your pocket every time?'
'Well, love' says the truckie, 'a few years ago, I was cleaning out the back shed, and found an old lamp.
When I rubbed it, a Genie appeared and offered me two wishes.
My first wish was that if I ever had to pay for anything, I would just put my hand in my pocket and the right amount of money would always be there.'
'That's brilliant!' says the waitress.
'Most people would ask for a million dollars or something, but you'll always be as rich as you want for as long as you live!'
'That's right. Whether it's a gallon of milk or a Rolls Royce, the exact money is always there,' says the man.
The waitress asks, 'What's with the bloody emu?'
The truckie sighs, pauses, and answers, 'My second wish was for a tall bird with a big arse and long legs, who agrees with everything I say.'

nick Sis,
That is certainly is food for thought. However it does make me wonder whether the predicament we (as a nation)are in now are the result of wishes that have come through (the phrase "be careful with what you wish for" comes to mind) or just the consequences of the ignorance on the part of yesteryear's Malaysian in their blind faith that THE NOW and FOREVER elected government would do what is best for them always.
Its just to show that relying on wishes and blind faith without real hard work, strong principle and unwavering commitment towards justice, fairness and equality (tempered with expensive sacrifices) would only result in disaster and disappointment. I therefore call on all Malaysian to no longer wish for a better tomorrow BUT instead work harder to bring a better future for all by making the right decision (voting) and upholding justice above all (incorruptible in belief and action). Anything less is UNACCEPTABLE!
Nick.
Sorry Sis, for this early morning rant but had to say something when I read about the planned UMNO Youth rally (which I suspect is being organized to disrupt the BERSIH rally).

Unknown Hi Jimmy Liew
I think in some places, 'bird' is a derogatory term used for women and perhaps that is why the guy ended up facing his lifelong 'sentence'.
*winks*
*chick* is not as insulting as 'bird'.
Thanks, Jimmy Liew, for being a gentleman! Take care and have a great day!

Unknown Dear Nick
I am so sorry! I just realized that I did not hit the Post Comment button after typing my response to your comment. Sudah tualah!
Thank you so much for such a sharp observation. In fact, it is a 'be careful who you vote for' scenario and this joke is a grim depiction of how wrong choices/perspecives/dreams can leave us in a dilemma for some time.
At a time when many are wondering if there is any hope left for this country, your observation and comment is certainly a refreshing breeze in this cold muggy atmosphere.
Take care and please keep in touch. I hope that you will write something for my blog when you are free!
Have a lovely weekend with your family!
Salam

Jimmy Liew masterwordsmith, no need to be careful lah. When voting just look for the BN logo or box, then tick the other one :)
