Twenty Minutes is all You Need!

Who has an hour to spend in the gym every day? For the time-poor and workout-shy, there’s good news — fitness experts say 20 minutes exercise a day is all you need.

Celebrities have seized the concept, based on the theory that the more intensively you exercise, the less time you need to devote to doing it.

Jennifer Aniston swears by a 22-minute cardio session, as does supermodel Helena Christiansen, who says: ‘Twenty minutes is enough to get my heart rate up but not exhaust me.’

Consumer watchdog the American Council on Exercise recommends ‘abbreviated fitness programmes’ for those who want to get results quickly.

Already, gyms such as Virgin Active and David Lloyd are offering express classes.
