Always Together...

Linda was the on who sent me an article on former Venezuelan beauty queen Eva Ekvall who died from breast cancer at the age of 28 on December 17, 2011.

After I read it, I trawled the net for information on this lovely lady. And when I saw the following photograph, I wept. I really did.

This photograph was posted by radio producer John Fabio Bermudez in Twitter a day after his dear wife passed away... with the words "Always together … I love you wife." Such deep love even in the face of adversity.

The sight of the husband holding her hand when she passed away, and the limp, helpless fingers of Eva Ekvall really spiked my blood pressure. I feel and felt the pain and salute her courage. Just last month, one of my former students - Brenda Chiah - passed away, also from breast cancer.

Anyway, if you have never read about Eva Ekvall, please check out the following links. I would have written more but I am really not well and my hubby is scolding me for sitting even for a while at the pc. Do read her story....

The Daily Mail: 'She demonstrated extraordinary calm and courage': Former Miss Venezuela dies of breast cancer aged 28

Linda's email came with the following message:

Everything in life is temporary, because everything changes...

That's why it takes great courage to love, knowing it might end anytime but having the faith it will last forever...

My message to you today: Time passes. Life happens. Distance separates. Children grow up. Jobs come and go. Love waxes and wanes. Men don’t do what they’re supposed to do. Hearts break. Parents die. Colleagues forget favors. Careers end.

BUT…. Sisters are there, no matter how much time and how many miles are between you. A girl friend is never farther away than needing her can reach. When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you have to walk it by yourself, the women in your life will be on the valley’s rim, cheering you on and praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the valley’s end.

Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk beside you… Or come in and carry you out. Girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters, daughters-in-law, sisters, sisters-in-law, Mothers, Grandmothers, aunties, nieces, cousins, and extended family, all bless our life!

The world wouldn’t be the same without women, and neither would I. When we began this adventure called womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we would need each other. Every day, we need each other still. Let us celebrate all the women who help make our lives meaningful!

May you all be Blessed! "Be kinder than necessary, For everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle"

Taikohtai I too have lost a child but life is just a process. We are spiritual beings living a temporary earthly existence. And the samsaric cycle repeats unless it is understood and transcended. Be well and happy.

    Unknown Dear Taikohtai

I am so sorry to hear about your loss.

I am also very sorry that my response to your very honest and yet wise comment is so late.

And I am touched that you took no offense to the delayed reaction and you still commented in my blog regardless.

Such greatness of the human spirit is rare and I am blessed to have a reader such as you.

Honestly, I can sense the peace in your soul for you have indeed come to terms with the loss. I am sure it must have been and still is painful but you have bravely overcome all the pain with the right perspective as you have so eloquently shared.

Thank you for being such an inspiring commenter.

I sincerely pray that those in similar situations will be comforted when they read your comment.

Take care and God bless you always!!!

    Please stay in touch!

    Best wishes
