"Men do not quit playing because they grow old; they grow old because they quit playing." - Oliver Wendell Holmes
Menopause in women refers to the time when a woman, generally between the ages of 45 and 55, ceases to produce the hormones estrogen and progesterone bringing to an end a woman’s menstrual cycle and her ability to have children.
There is no such analogous phase in a male. In fact, technically a man can continue to father children into his 90s.
However there is a point in a man’s life, beginning around the age of 40, when he begins to produce lesser amounts of the male sex hormone, testosterone. (Normal levels of testosterone for a man range from 300 to 1100 ng/dc. nanograms per deciliter).
