Fortunately for us, at any moment we can create our circumstances instead of letting them create us. Of course we can’t change things such as the number of kids we have or the color of our (natural) hair. But what matters is that we can change the way we think about those things. She reminded me at a very timely moment that when we take our focus away from things we find displeasing, guess what, they go away. It’s true.
Let's consider traffic or anything that consistently bothers us. We're in a bumper to bumper traffic situation, we keep switching lanes right before the lane we were in starts moving. Then we’re late, getting cut off, and stuck by every red light. It’s frustrating because we want to get where we’re going fast and we don’t want anything or anybody in your way. So what do we do? Scream? Honk?
Well, the next time we’re in this situation, or experiencing something displeasing, what we need to do is to put our focus into finding ways to enjoy it. It may be easier to start off trying to think of ways to simply to not hate it. Well what if we convinced ourselves that our journey is just as good as our destination? What if we decided that the red lights, the traffic, and the time were all in our favor? It actually gives us an opportunity to look around, to have time to take it slow and relax. Listen to music, talk radio, whatever feels good.
So as we start a new day today, realize that once we start looking for ways to enjoy our circumstances, it becomes easier to find more and more things to enjoy. Positive perspectives are like a domino effect. We need to look at life from different aspects. In other words, positive thoughts create more positive thoughts. When we remove negative thoughts, one by one, they become smaller and rarer.
A positive mindset is essential to our success. As we begin this day, let us make a commitment to ourselves to find new perspectives in our daily lives which can make us feel good. Well, we’ve good nothing to lose but limiting thoughts and frustration. So dear reader, it's really all up to us to live life to the fullest or to allow others to rob us of satisfaction and fulfilment in life!
Have a great day and a wonderful weekend!

Starmandala Sound advice, for sure! But some of us are masochists and won't shift our perceptions... unless we get a hard kick in the butt!

Cat-from-Sydney O Wise Master,
The whale is now gone again? Well, "it's really all up to you," I guess. Yeah, we all need positive thinking. Even cats! meow!
