A SPECIAL LETTER

This letter was written by Fra Giovanni Giocondo to his friend, Countess Allagia Aldobrandeschi on Christmas Eve, 1513. Born in Venice, Giocondo would become a priest, a scholar, an architect and a teacher. He was indeed a true 'renaissance man.'

In 1496 Giocondo was invited to France by the King and made royal architect. If you've ever been to Paris and walked across the beautiful bridges Pont Notre-Dame or the Petit Pont -- both of these were designed by Giocondo.

I am posting this letter as an encouragement to those of us who may be feeling blue...to know that there IS always hope no matter how dark the day. It is not blind idealism ...think - law of atrraction or faith or whatever. The bottom line is negativism cripples us and makes us too weak, pessimistic for our own good. May today and everyday of your life be filled with showers of blessings and hope for tomorrow. Take care and God bless you and yours always. Have a nice day.

I am your friend and my love for you goes deep. There is nothing I can give you which you have not got, but there is much, very much, that, while I cannot give it, you can take.

No heaven can come to us unless our hearts find rest in today. Take heaven!

No peace lies in the future which is not hidden in this present little instant. Take peace!

The gloom of the world is but a shadow. Behind it, yet within our reach is joy. There is radiance and glory in the darkness could we but see - and to see we have only to look. I beseech you to look!

Life is so generous a giver, but we, judging its gifts by the covering, cast them away as ugly, or heavy or hard. Remove the covering and you will find beneath it a living splendor, woven of love, by wisdom, with power.

Welcome it, grasp it, touch the angel's hand that brings it to you. Everything we call a trial, a sorrow, or a duty, believe me, that angel's hand is there, the gift is there, and the wonder of an overshadowing presence. Our joys, too, be not content with them as joys. They, too, conceal diviner gifts.

Life is so full of meaning and purpose, so full of beauty - beneath its covering - that you will find earth but cloaks your heaven.

Courage, then, to claim it, that is all. But courage you have, and the knowledge that we are all pilgrims together, wending through unknown country, home.

And so, at this time, I greet you. Not quite as the world sends greetings, but with profound esteem and with the prayer that for you now and forever, the day breaks, and the shadows flee away.

Take care, dear reader. Have a great day!

    nick Sis,

Just the soul tonic I needed to sooth my weary spirit and belief. However I take comfort that ONLY those who do not love their country would not feel despair, shame and utter disgust with the antic and brazen manner of 'our' leaders in destroying this beloved country.

I'm truly worried with the economic state of our country and what lies ahead for the poor and the 'just surviving' segment of our society. We have so many of them and I shudder to think what will happen to them when our country is bankrupted or when the economy collapse.

I pray that the Almighty will answer our prayers and opened up peoples heart to the truth and save ourselves by kicking out the corrupt, the criminal and the disaster that is UMNO and BN.

    Hamba.
I'm praying for Malaysia and for all of us. GOD bless us all, Sis.

Sighs...I feel the same way and have to constantly remind myself to remain hopeful no matter how dark the day.

I am so worried for my own future and that of my children. At my age, it is difficult because I have to consider many economic factors and live a frugal and simple life and yet have enough to provide for my children and hopefully enough to buy stuff for my grandchildren....At the rate our economy is moving...hmmm enough has been said.

We really have to ask the Almighty to convict their hearts to bow in repentance to the heavens above and to rediscover their conscience...

I am with you too in this intercession. Take care and God bless you and yours always...and all of us....

    Salam
