The Humor of Robin Williams

You gotta love Robin Williams........Even if he's nuts! Leave it to Robin Williams to come up with the perfect plan. What we need now is for our UN Ambassador to stand up and repeat this message.:-)

Thanks to Mr. Krishnan who sent me this post.

Robin Williams' plan...(Hard to argue with this logic!)

'I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for peace. So, here's one plan.'

1) 'The US, UK , CANADA and AUSTRALIA will apologize to the world for our 'interference' in their affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic, Hussein, and the rest of those 'good 'ole' boys', we will never 'interfere' again.

2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany , South Korea , the Middle East, and the Philippines . They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No one allowed sneaking through holes in the fence.

3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of whom or where they are from. They're illegal!!! France will welcome them.

4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit!!!! No one from a terrorist nation will be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Asylum would never be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers.

5) No foreign 'students' over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a 'D' and it's back home baby.

6) The US, UK , CANADA and AUSTRALIA will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing non-polluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while.

7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go someplace else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.)

8) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not 'interfere..' They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides most of what we give them is stolen or given to the army.. The people who need it most get very little, if anything.

9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island someplace. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.

10) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us 'Ugly Americans' any longer. The Language we speak is ENGLISH...learn it...or LEAVE. Now, isn't that a winner of a plan?

The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying 'Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses..' She's got a baseball bat and she's yelling, 'you want a piece of me?' '

If you agree with the above, forward it to friends...If not, and I would be amazed if you DELETED it!!

Rml He makes a very good point, and he truly is a very smart guy. Nevertheless, I don't think he gets exactly why so many people out there hate America - not UK, not Australia and specially not Canada (the only ones who apparently don't like Canada are the Americans!... But they'll never own up to it).
People cry for peace because the US seems not to know any other way to do things other than through war... have they ever heard of "talking"? "Diplomatic relations"? As for their "interference" with Hitler and the like, in the past and in the present, that's not help: that's self-preservation. They fight all those dictators because they're afraid that, once those people are done in other continents, they'll go after America's ass. They do not help out of sheer altruism, far from it. But they do love to say so. (And... Vietnam War? What was that all about?!)
Besides, people all over the world are already doing their best to learn English, what more do they want? Everyone knows everything about their language and their culture - whereas the average American doesn't even bother to differenciate any country below Mexico. For them, everything down South is a big Mexican, Spanish-speaking blur. They just don't care.
Drilling in Alaska? So not a good idea. And they'd be the 2nd ones to go - Canada being the first.
Despite having built his speech quite well, I don't think that's the correct answer... he's being uber patriotic in a way only Americans can: a non-healthy way. It's ok to love your country - but it's not ok to think your country is the Messiah.
(And... I KNOW it doesn't come off that way, but I have nothing whatsoever against America! I just really don't like blind patriotism, from anyone; the US has its good things and its bad things just like any other place in the world.)

    Unknown Dear RML

WOw! Thanks for a super duper comment! It is a heartwarming experience to hear such lucid views from one as young as you (not that I am an ageist but the standard of education in my country has deteriorated so much that many do not read or write like you do!)

I am glad that whilst you understood RW's motivation, you went a step further to speak out against what you believe is wrong.

And we need more people like you, RML - all over the world - if we want our thinking faculties to be well-utilized.

Thanks for sharing and for stopping by. Take care and do keep in touch!

    Cheers

Michael C People cry for peace because the US seems not to know any other way to do things other than through war... have they ever heard of "talking"? "Diplomatic relations"? As for their "interference" with Hitler and the like, in the past and in the present, that's not help: that's self-preservation.
MC: Bingo !! You nailed it right on the head !! On the other hand, self preservation is what humans and animals do best. No one walks too near a cliff, or runs into a bushfire for that very same reason. We all put on our safety belts while we ride in a car, and reflex action or known as flinching is that very mechanisms built into our nature. As said before, all humans and animals are "wired" that way.

They fight all those dictators because they're afraid that, once those people are done in other continents, they'll go after America's ass. They do not help out of sheer altruism, far from it. But they do love to say so. (And... Vietnam War? What was that all about?!)
MC: The Vietnam War was another act of self-preservation, if you will. There was this notion that Communism was bad. And that notion still holds true today. We are bombarded by the media telling us that Burma is a dictatorship, and that North Korea is evil, and thus, it warrants all the Embargoes which come along with it. Burma has also started it's Nuclear Program, and in the process, killed, and assassinated far too many of it's "dissidents", for lack of a better term. While Burma is not a true communist country, as shown by it's name, nor is the People's Democratic Republic of Lao, HECK !! Even Vietnam does not call itself Communist Vietnam !!! But one cannot help but think of how these countries are run. And the massive stifling of it's resident. For example, Vietnam recently arrested 3 of its bloggers just 2 days ago. Where then, does anyone, or any country draw the line? If you have a solution, then I'm sure the entire world would certainly like to hear it.

Besides, people all over the world are already doing their best to learn English, what more do they want?
MC: Language alone does not mean much !! I am fluent in 8 different Languages, and it was all learnt so that I could be "better than the next". Not because I needed to suck up to anyone.

Everyone knows everything about their language and their culture - whereas the average American doesn't even bother to differentiate any country below Mexico. For them, everything down South is a big Mexican, Spanish-speaking blur. They just don't care.
MC: Yeah, and when I was in New York, I had to learn to speak Arabic to get into a freaking Taxi !!!

Drilling in Alaska? So not a good idea. And they'd be the 2nd ones to go - Canada being the first.
MC: The Arctic and the Antarctic are the last two bastions of Oil in the world. The oil reserves there can easily support the present day usage of oil till way past the year 2500 !! This is because, they were both lush tropical territories when the Poles were not in their present day positions. Also, just for the record, the Magnetic North Pole is shifting at a rate of 15km per day. The last I checked, it was somewhere over Canada. The poles have also flipped many times over. meaning, the North became the south, and vice versa. And lastly, also for the record, the French, Brits and even Timbuktoo Malaysia are drilling in the North Poles already. They have been since 2001.

Despite having built his speech quite well, I don't think that's the correct answer... he's being uber patriotic in a way only Americans can: a non-healthy way. It's ok to love your country - but it's not ok to think your country is the Messiah.
MC: You will need to contest the Jews then. They claim to be "God's Chosen People". To deny that, is to deny the entire Bible. The Muslims, of course claim otherwise, and if anything, the entire world will go up in a mushroom cloud before your pancakes are ready for breakfast someday in the not too far distant future, should any anarchical forces be allowed to fester, foster, and manifest.

(And... I KNOW it doesn't come off that way, but I have nothing whatsoever against America! I just really don't like blind patriotism, from anyone; the US has its good things and its bad things just like any other place in the world.)
MC: All I can say, is that this is still RObin Williams. He is not Mother Theresa, nor is any other Comdeian, or Politician for that matter.

    Hasta-La Vista, Baby...
    Cheers

Anonymous There are a million thinkers out there who says what the US is doing, or had done, is right. And there's another million who says what the US is doing, or had done, is wrong. It's really about personal opinions of how the world should be. And if that still doesn't settle it, then I suppose another world war will.

Personally, I prefer to watch cartoons.
