God Will Take Care of You

Actually, this has been such an eventful day that I am still up at 2.13 a.m writing this post. After I wrote my previous post, I showered and made my way to my Facebook page where I have nightly meetings with my former schoolmates reminiscing and joking away in our private old girls' page. During the chat with my girlfriends till 2.05a.m., I floated the idea of doing a fund-raising project for our alma mater. For sure, we all would not be where we are if not for our parents, teachers and schools we attended, not forgetting other positive influences as well. Once I collate the info, our group will certainly try to raise funds for the school and hopefully leave behind a legacy of kindness.

While chatting, I shared with my friends how my friend Noor Kamariah demonstrated so much strength of character and steadfastness in her faith through her semangat. Even though both Noor Kamariah and her husband had been victims of one driver's careless act, they did not speak any word of condemnation; neither were they angry or bitter. Despite experiencing excruciating pain, I could see how the smiles on their faces could not mask their agony. Such strength of character and resilience in the face of such challenges is certainly a rare sight to behold. I am so inspired by Noor Kamariah's gentleness and beautiful nature, her husband's sincerity and the love and care of their two beautiful girls. A happy family can be seen in the type of children we bring up. Certainly, the two girls were warm to us from the moment they saw us as we were walking along the corridor. Their sweet smiles in the face of such adversities show their strength of spirit. What an inspiration!

And this evening, when I was at the hospital, I received a sms from a Facebook friend - Rosie Chan - from KL. Her husband, Siew, passed away this evening when she was still at work. My deepest condolences to Rosie and her family.

The first time I met Rosie in person was in Nov '11 when she came to support Juanophobia at the Polo Rocks competition. I was struck by her warm smile and bubbly spontaneity in the way she greeted me and we just clicked from there. It was later in the evening that she shared with me about her husband's fight against cancer. And I felt so bad. There she was - a devoted working mother who had to care for her husband, and yet, despite the distance from her home, drove all the way to The Curve to give her support.  My heart goes out to Rosie and her loved ones during this time of grief and loss.

I was just so struck by these two women this evening. And I thought to myself - each of us has our own struggles, our own pains to bear but no matter what, we have to be positive and to cope that we can rise above such circumstances without being bitter, but better!

No matter what challenging circumstances we may face, I believe God (whichever God you believe in) will take care of us. We can derive much strength from above through prayer. If you are facing any situation in your life, I really hope that God will take care of you and that you will ride the storm beautifully and emerge a stronger and wiser person.

I listened to the following song - an old hymn - sung by a young couple and their TWO-YEAR OLD son. And I was moved to tears by the simple faith and exuberance of the little boy. I have watched the clip at least 10 times already - the little boy is such a natural born singer and so cute!

It is absolutely amazing that this two-year-old can memorise the lyrics of the song and sing so exuberantly with much faith and fervor that can be heard clearly, especially towards the end of the clip where his voice increases in volume and strength! And that is how we should fight the race - stronger at the finishing line! God will take care of you. I truly believe He will.

Take care and may you be blessed over and over again. Good night.

Be not dismayed whate'er betide,
God will take care of you!
Beneath His wings of love abide,
God will take care of you!
God will take care of you,

Through every day o'er all the way;
He will take care of you;
God will take care of you!
Through days of toil when heart doth fail,
God will take care of you!
When dangers fierce your path assail,
God will take care of you!

All you may need He will provide,
God will take care of you!
Trust Him, and you will be satisfied,
God will take care of you!

Lonely and sad, from friends apart,
God will take care of you!
He will give peace to your aching heart,
God will take care of you!

No matter what may be the test,
God will take care of you!
Lean, weary one, upon His breast,
God will take care of you!

This was written on a Sunday afternoon by in 1904, by Mr. and Mrs. Stillman Martin.
Mrs Martin was very ill and in bed, but her husband had to go to a meeting. He was reluctant to leave her. She said, “Don’t worry, God will Take care of you.”

While her husband was away, she thought of the wonderful truths in her own words, and wrote this poem. Her husband returned to read this wonderful poem of assurance and composed the music for the song.
