The Beautiful Truth

According to THIS LINK:

A troubled 15-year-old boy attempting to cope with the recent death of his mother sets out to research Dr. Max Gerson's claims of a diet that can cure cancer as his first assignment for home-schooling in this documentary from filmmaker Steve Kroschel (Avalanche, Dying to Have Known).

Garrett is a boy who has always been close to nature. He lives on a reserve with a menagerie of orphaned animals, and over the years he's become especially sensitive to the nutritional needs of the diet-sensitive animals he's charged with caring for. When Garrett's mother suffers a tragic and untimely death, the boy falls into a dangerous downward spiral and nearly flunks out of school.

Increasingly concerned for Garrett's well-being and determined to strengthen their bond despite the many challenges on the horizon, his father makes the decision to begin home-schooling the distressed teen.

Garrett's first assignment: study a controversial book written by Dr. Max Gerson, a physician who claims to have discovered a diet that's capable of curing cancer. Is Dr. Gerson's therapy truly the legitimate, alternative cure it appears to be?

In order to find out the truth behind this long-suppressed treatment, Garrett interviews not only Dr. Gerson's family members, but various doctors, skeptics, and cancer patients as well.

His studies completed and his findings revelatory, Garrett now sets out to tell the entire world about The Gerson Miracle.

    edward Dear MWS,

Dr Gerson's cancer therapy remains just as controversial now as it had been at the time it was presented to the medical world. If only the medical establishment then had given it the attention it warranted, study the success and failures or fund research and so on, we may have discovered a possible cure for cancer and other illnesses. Can you imagine a potential cure that is inexpensive and freely available to millions worldwide? Its a staggering thought. Maybe the insinuation that the big drug companies and politicians had collaborated in destroying the notion may not be unfounded after all.

A friend of mine was diagnosed with breast CA stage 4. She had undergone the conventional cancer treatment modalities i.e surgery followed by chemotherapy. Was ok for about 2 years and then had a relapse. Cancerous cells were again discovered in her liver. She had the diseased part excised but chemo was out of the question as another round of highly toxic drugs may end her life. Gerson therapy was her last hope. She went on a very strict regiment, diligently taking organic juices every few hours, daily coffee enema etc. She survived for almost 14 years before a major relapse took her life a few months ago. During the later years she did relax on her routine and was not as disciplined on her diet as before. In addition she continued to work long hours. I have no doubt that Gerson therapy had helped in sustaining and prolonging her life. Rich in enzymes, anti oxidants, natural vitamins etc I can see how it can enhance our health and prevent debilitating diseases from developing.

    Best regards.

    Unknown Dear Edward

It is always so refreshing to hear from you, Edward. Thank you so much for sharing such important information. I do hypothesize that there is a great conspiracy to make money out of the big 'C'.

Currently, a very dear and old friend is in High Dependency Unit at a local private hospital. Things look pretty bleak and most regretfully, even though the doctor told the family that she has only 3-6 more months to live, they carried on with chemotherapy to treat her Stage 4B cancer. She is just not strong enough to last the treatment. A few days ago, she could no longer stand or walk. Today, she has great difficulty speaking.

I truly believe that we are what we eat.

Of late, I have had a turnaround in my lifestyle and eating habits. I have lost 17 pounds thanks to exercise and healthy eating and still have another 13 pounds to go. I will target for another 10 pound loss after a month or two.

Currently, I am also on a very strict diet, staying away from unhealthy food. Hopefully, I will be able to grow my own vegetables soon. Am taking Nick to an organic farm next week and we will see what changes we need to make in our garden...

Do take care, Edward. May God bless you and yours always! Do stay in touch.

    Shalom

    edward Dear MWS,

I am glad to know that you and family had embarked on a healthy diet/exercise plan. To my mind, diet, stress, inadequate rest and other unhealthy habits like smoking , excessive drinking all contribute to our state of health. Its a dilemma sometimes. Some of the best tasting food is not conducive to our health although they appeal so much to our taste buds LOL. I guess discernment and moderation are the keywords. There are certain foods that we should avoid as much as possible. They include all deep fried stuff, preserved food (canned or otherwise)like sausages, salted fish/eggs and even anchovies.Food with anti tumour elements in them are many. Most brightly colored veges, turmeric, green tea, broccolli etc are some examples.

I am deeply sorry to hear of your friend's situation. I hope that whatever the outcome of her treatment I pray that she finds calming peace within herself. And also may that inner peace extends to her loved ones as well.

    Best wishes.
