The New Member of My Family

Ladies and gentleman, I have a new member in my family that I would like you to meet. His name is Tiger.

Tiger is a two-year old West Highland terrier that we adopted today. A cellist friend arranged for the adoption as the owner had to relocate to another state and would be living in an apartment. My friend adopted his Golden Retriever and with five dogs on his hands, he could not adopt Tiger.

After my friend sent me Tiger's pics, I forwarded the mail to my husband and then requested for us to meet Tiger today. We spent some time playing with Tiger before we finally made a firm decision to adopt Tiger.

Shortly thereafter, we went to get doggy stuff and then took Tiger home. Upon arrival, my husband and Nick took Tiger to the playground for a run round the field. Then they bathed Tiger.

My duty was to blow-dry his lovely coat. Oh man!!! That was such a tiresome task...no joke being a dog-groomer. Much tougher than blow-drying my own hair!!

Anyway, it has been four hours since we met Tiger and till now, he is very well-behaved, has made only one squeak and seems to have adopted my husband as master of the house and Nick as assistant man-in-charge. Sadly, he shows little interest in me.

If anyone out there owns a Westie...or any type of terrier do share some tips! TQ!

In the mean time, please excuse me cos I have to give Tiger some tummy tickles. Till we meet again in the next post after dinner, have a pleasant evening!

*Thanks to KL who arranged for the adoption!

So sorryyyy!! Nick still has eyes for you and sleeps with the doggies you gave him before...remember the one that barks when you press its ears and the schnauzer? ah that is why he wants a dog lah....not because he loves you any less :-).

Lovely to hear from you and Nick says Hi! He is now 5 ft 10.5 inches even though he is only 14....

Take care and please let me know when you are in Penang again.

    Salam and warmest wishes

Juno Was wondering why u named the dog Tiger and bang --- it was my uncle's dog

My uncle named him Tiger when he was brought to my grandfather's house when it was the Year of Tiger

He was really cute when he was little ,running and jumping everywhere in the house.

He previously sleeps with a golden retriever called Kim , i think its feel lonely now and that's the reason why he didn't want to sleep by himself

    Take good care of him!

PS: I still cant find a way to make him sit or roll XD

How wonderful to hear from you and to know that you are Tiger's family member!! :-)

I am so happy to hear from you. Your uncle has my email and contact number. Do call/write if you want to visit Tiger or meet us at a park etc.

Kim has been adopted by my cellist friend and I have asked him to arrange for a day when Tiger can visit them.

My son loves Tiger very much and the feeling is mutual. I have actually sent your uncle many pics, including a photo-essay of what I wrote about Tiger.

Do mail me then I can add you to my FB account where you can track Tiger's progress. I make a few updates about Tiger in my FB everyday cos I have a few other doggie-lover friends, one of which has another West Highland terrier that looks exactly like Tiger.

Rest assured, my son, hubby and I love Tiger very much. Today, he is very sad as my boy is in school. Tiger has been at the door waiting and waiting :-(. I will take him to school afterwards when I pick up my son. We will give Tiger our love, care, devotion and the best of what we can afford. Don't worry. :-)

I can make him sit already and also jump. He is delightfully obedient, compliant and a very adorable companion.

I hope to hear from you again. Take care and God bless you.

    Happy New Year!

    Best wishes
