Be There if You Love Penang

Having lived in Penang for all my life, I am greatly saddened by the problem of traffic congestion in my home state. The situation is worsening and the light at the end of the tunnel is dimming.

To illustrate, it used to take me ten minutes to drive to college but now it takes me at least 30 minutes and another twenty minutes to look for a place to park.

Recently, the state government announced its 6 billion RM plan for the integrated system. Many NGOs and individuals have been up in arms over this project for many reasons.

This evening, there will be a dialogue on "A Vision For An International Livable City", - A TUNNEL AT LIVABLE GURNEY?" at Hotel 1926, 227 Burmah Road, Penang (TEL 04 2271926).

The speakers for this evening are Dr Lim Mah Hui Phd. MPPP councilor and Professor Dr. Jimmy Lim who is an esteemed architect, former PAM PRESIDENT, winner of the 2012 SIA-GETZ architecture prize for Emergent Architecture in Asia and past winner of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture.

Prof Dr. Jimmy is a very passionate conservationist. I helped him to edit the videos he filmed yesterday and this will be screened tonight. It will showcase evidence of how Penang is changing...for the better or worse? Please come and judge for yourself.

Free admission. Light refreshments will be served.
