Haze - Take Green Beans! Serious!

It's hazy days again and during such times, I think of my dear departed friend, Una.

During those days in 1997 when the haze was in town, she used to make green bean soup for me as I was expecting Nicholas then. Most devotedly, her green bean soup would be slow-cooked with little sugar. Then, she told me that green beans had the highest level of antioxidants compared to other foods. She would drive to my place and leave a big pot of green bean soup. Great was her capacity to love her friends and how all of us love and miss her dearly. I believe she left a bit of herself in us when she left us in 2011 for our lives have never been the same again.

Today, I decided to check the veracity of her claims so that I can share evidence to convince you all to take it.

    TP Are you referring to Green Beans as in French Beans or the Green Beans that is hard that takes two hours to cook?

    Your links seem to point to the former because they all say to steam the beans for 5-7 minutes.

    Thank you for your very important question.

    I was referring to all kinds of green beans in general.

    The soup that my late girlfriend made was green beans ...the green version of the red beans (ice kacang type).

    From what I have read, the other types you mentioned are also good.
